Affects Ss will be willing to share and communicate with each other.二Teaching Fouces and DifficultiesTeaching Focus: the use of present progressive tense and the way to wirte a postcard.Teaching Difficulties: It will be difficult for Ss to undertand the another use of progressive tense.3 Teaching ProduceStep 1 Warming up & Lead in1. Normal Greeting Teacher and students greet with each others. Ask Ss two questions: “ What s the weather like today?” and “ How s it going?”2. Lead in T shares own situation: I feel terrible beacause my phone isnt work. This Friday is my friend s birthday. I want to call her. What can I do now? Ss will brainstorm about this problem.N Through this situation to lead into the theme of postcard. Ss will be interested in T s problem. And it also gives Ss the sense of sharing.Step 2 Reading1. Pre-reading (1) Talk about the postcards T tells Ss that I always visit some interesting places on my vacation and buy many postcards. Then share some of them to the whole class, which are from China, Australia, Canada and England. Tell Ss that they are from different coountries, the teach the names of these these countries and some new words. While teaching these words, ask Ss to spell it according to the phonetical symbol. (2) Talk about the pictures in 2a Ask Ss to talk about these pictures with their partner. Think about these quetions: How s the weather? Where s she? What s doing? Which season is it?N Teach Ss the new words and some information about postcards or the pictures so that Ss can know more it it is also better to undersand the article later.T: They want to share their feelings with friends, so they write a postcard to their friends.2. While-reading (1) Fast reading (Skimming) Ask Ss to read the postcards quickly and match them with the pictures. Ss are asked to underline the sentences that can help them get the answer and read them together.N This is to help Ss get the main idea about the article and to cultivate their sense of discourse. (2) Careful reading Create a situation: I left my English book in my office, so can you help me to complete the information. Ask Ss to complete the mind map of each postcard. ( It is about Su Lin s vacation: place, N This is to train Ss ability to find the information. Itweather, doing, feeling and Dave s vacation: place, weather, doing, feeling.) can also help them clarify the article.3. After reading T: Since I don t bring my English book, can you share it with me? Ask Ss to retell Sulin s and Dave s vacation.Step 3 Writing After Ss s retelling, ask Ss to pay attention to the structure: body, start, ending. Use the article to devidide it into three parts. Then Ss need to pay attention to the link words, which are to connect the sentences.Writing Time: (1) Talk about the picture you have drawn before the class; (2) Choose one of your friends or teachers; (3) Share your vacation with him/her.N Ask Ss to write.
