Lesson Plan of Unit8 When is your birthday ? (第四课时)1 教学内容分析 Part 1-2c of Section B In the part of 1 ,introduce more words to students. Some pictures can help the students understand the vocabulary. In the part2a-2b, the students will listen to a conversation about the events and fill in Joe s calendar. In the part 2c ,the students will practice the conversation . 二 教学目标1 Be able to understand the key vocabulary and target language.2 Be able to improve the studentsabililiy of listening and reading.3 The students can talk about the birthday party with their partners.4 The students can report the eventsdate.三 教学过程1Step 1: Greeting and Lead-in (10 minutes) 1. The teacher and the students greet each other. 2. Revise the key vocabulary and expressions in the last period. Like these: A :Whats your name? B :My name is . A :When is your birthday? B :My birthday is . A :When is your birthday party? B :My birthday party is . Write the word “party ”on the blackboard. 3. Write dowm the words of the events on the blackboard. Ask students to read the words first and then correct the pronunciation . Read the words to the class and ask them to read. speech contest school trip Party basketball game 4.Ask the students to look the pictures and finish the part 1.【设计说明:师生通过问答式的自由对话,既复习了上一节课的内容,同时也引出本节课的生词,而且学习的内容与学生自身息息相关,能迅速激发学生兴趣。】Step 2: Listening practice.(10 minutes) 1. Listen and check Look at the four pictures.Now you will hear a conversation about the pictures.Listen carefully and check the events you hear. 2. Listen and fill in the blank. This is a calendar September 24th-October 7th. Let students to listen to the conversation carefully and write the name of each event in the correct place on the Calendar【设计说明:本环节主要训练学生听力,传授学生掌握基本的听力技巧以便应对以后复杂的 听力测试,捕捉关键词语,重读、弱读等,在听的同时完成活动2a,2b 】Step3: Pairwork(10 minutes) 1. Ask students to look at Joes calendar in activity 2b .Tell students to make conversations like this: When is Sallys birthday party ? Its October fifth. 2. Ask pairs of students to practice together .Then ask some students to present their conversations to the class. 3.Ask students to bring out the calendar they made in last class and do more practice .When is your English speech contest ? When is your mothers birthday party ? When is your school trip ?
