involvement, including volunteering at school and observing a childs class, also fail to help, according to the most recent study on the topic.the findings challenge a key principle of modern parenting where schools expect them to act as partners in their childrens education. previous generations concentrated on getting children to school on time, fed, dressed and ready to learn.keith robinson, the author of the study, said, i really dont know if the public is ready for this but there are some ways parents can be involved in their kids education that leads to declines in their academic performance. one of the things that was consistently negative was their parents help with homework. robinson suggested that may be because parents themselves struggle to understand the tasks.they may either not remember the material their kids are studying now, or in some cases never learnt it themselves, but theyre still offering advice.robinson assessed parental involvement performance and found one of the most damaging things a parent could do was to punish their children for poor marks. in general, about 20% of parental involvement was positive, about 45% negative and the rest statistically insignificant.common sense suggests it was a good thing for parents to get involved because children with good academic success do have involved parents, admitted robinson. but 3d根据空后面的句子 why not? so he said, welcome aboard! 故选a。 再根据本句now, shay was scheduled to take the _ winning run. 7a根据本句 at this very moment, do they let shay bat and _ their chance to win the game? 故选a。 9b根据前后句 everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible _ shay didnt even know to hold the bat properly.(大家都知道shay根本不可能打到球,因为(because)他甚至不知道正确地握球棒。) 11d根据本句 _, as shay stepped up, the pitcher, realizing the _ team putting winning aside for this moment in shays life, threw the ball softly. 12c根据上句和本句 so shay could _ be able to make contact.(这样shay至少(at least)能碰一下球。) 13a根据本句shay swung clumsily and hit a _ ground ball right back to the pitcher, shay笨拙的挥棒并且打出一个慢速的(slow)滚地球,直直的滚向投手。 故选a。14b分析本句的句子结构shay swung clumsily and hit a _ ground ball right back to the pitcher, who purposely threw the ball out of _ of all team-mates. 可知who引导的是定语从句,它的先行词是 pitcher(投手),再根据从句 who purposely threw the ball out of _ of all team-mates. 16a根据句子 and then, _his breath, shay awkwardly ran towards second, the third, the home然后shay喘口气(catch his breath)跌跌撞撞地跑向二垒、三垒、本垒的意思可知catch ones breath 喘口气(屏息)是固定搭配,且符合语境的意思。故选a。17d根据句子 shay was cheered _ the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team! 18c根据句子 and for the first time, he was so _of himself making his father so happy. 19a根据最后一段的句子 _ a physically handicapped child like shay comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human _ presents itself, and it comes, in the way other people treat that child. 20b根据最后一段的句子 _ a physically handicapped child like shay comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human _ presents itself, and it comes, in the way other people treat that child. 根据第一段other forms of parental involvement, including volunteering at school and observing a childs class, also fail to help,可知parental involvement指的是父母参与孩子的教育。所以选a。 根据第三段but there are some ways parents can be involved in their kids education that leads to declines in their academic performance. 根据文章最后一段的句子they took a more reasonable approach, conveying to their children how success at school could improve their lives. 根据本空后的“no”可知应该是一个问句,因此通过对比可知,只有b and everything unfamiliar is scary? 本空前的“there is no other feeling like the victory you feel that makes you realize you won.” 根据本段的小标题“fear is part of lift, and doesnt need to be eliminated”恐惧是提高的一部分,不需要被消除。而与d. we dont need to remove fear from our lives的意思是一致的,故选d。 . 短文改错yesterday was my fathers birthday. we made many for it. early in the morning, my mother and i set off for the department store to find gift for father. we chose very , eventually a warm sweater our eye was purchased.to my love for my father, i
