Objective.This Method of Statement establishes all procedures proposed by China Harbor Engineering Company LTD to complete the Drainage 4U-Ditch Plan for Colon Container Terminal Phase III - Stage 1 PK III-1G.2. Scope.The purpose of this document is to describe the work method shall be used, to efficiently complete the Drainage 4U-Ditch Plan for Catch Basin. All construction activities will be completed in strict adherence to Quality, Safety regulations and with respect to the friendly environment.3. Reference Drawings on this Document.3.1 Here in following drawing referenced in this document.a. GC-01, GC02 Drainage System Layoutb. GC03, Details on existing Drainage System.c. GC4, GC5, GC6, GC7, GC8, GC9, New Drainage System Details.4. General Construction Arrangement.The construction equipment is detailed in each of the separate drainage scheme. The combination of cast-in-situ and prefabricating method is used for the 4U ditch. The prefabricated section is completed in the precast yard and then transported to the site by flat-bed trailer for hoisting, and the construction of cast-in-situ section is carried out after the prefabricated section is installed. 5. Construction Method of 4U-Ditch.5.1 Construction ScheduleThe cast-in-situ method is used for the construction of all 4U-ditches in this project. The 4U-ditch is 631m long in total. According to the pipeline after setting out, the actual position and length of the pipeline shall be checked, and the mini-excavator shall be used and coordinated by manual excavation.5.4.2 During excavation, the designed elevation of the bottom of ditch shall be strictly controlled. 10m shall be reserved for bottom cleaning manually by the workers in the case of mechanical excavation, and the attached figure shall be added to illustrate the reserved part, so as to avoid that the undisturbed soil at the bottom of ditch is disturbed by over-excavation during mechanical operation.5.4.3 To prevent from ponding in the ditch, the gutters are excavated on both sides of the ditch, the collecting well shall be provided at intervals, and the sewage pump shall be used to pump the water to the temporary drainage system. The excavated ditch shall be leveled, and tamped by workers. 5.4.4 The graded broken stone bedding (see letter CHEC-SBT-040) shall be paved, with thickness of 20cm. The 140kgf/cm2 concrete bedding (See letter CHEC-SBT-045) shall be poured after leveling by manual work, with thickness of 5cm.5.5 Rebar5.5.1 The blanking, cutting and forming of raw rebar shall be based on the design length, and the blanking length and processing method shall strictly follow the requirements of construction drawings (G-).5.5.2 After forming, the dimensions and shapes of finished products shall be carefully checked to see whether they are consistent with the drawing and blanking table, and they can be put into use after verification. The formed rebar shall be stacked by classification, which shall be handled with care to avoid distortion.5.5.3 The rebar for bottom plate shall be firstly bound, and the sequence shall be from longitudinal rebar to horizontal rebar and then stirrup. The thickness of the protective cover for rebar shall be strictly controlled during the rebar installation, the staggered arrangement shall be used for the binding direction during the binding of rebar junctions, and the stirrup shall be perpendicular to the main rebar. 5.5.4 The construction of side wall shall be carried out after the bottom plate is completed, and the embedded ladder on side wall shall be welded firmly to the reinforcement cage through spot welding and tied by iron wire.5.6 Rebar Testing5.6.1 Details on Rebar test, refer to letters: (CHEC-SBT-050, CHEC-SBT-023)5.7 Formwork 5.7.1 Since the gap in the middle part of the U ditch opening is too small, the internal formwork would be difficult to remove if its the case that it would be poured in one single phase. Therefore, placement of concrete in two phases is will be adopted for side wall and top plate in sequence. The formwork on the outer side shall be firstly installed, and 30cm rebar shall be provided every 3m along the outer side of the formwork.5.7.2 The formwork uses bamboo plywood, is fixed by square timber and steel pipe, and the internal formwork uses steel form.5.7.3 The internal formwork shall be removed before second phase of concrete placement take place; the bottom formwork of the top plate shall use bamboo plywood, and shall be reversely hung on the supporting steel pipe of external formwork through the PVC pipe orifice. The structural drawing of the formwork is as shown below:5.8 4U Ditch Joints.5.8.1 Construction Joints5.8.2 Construction Joints between U-ditch and catch basin is required to use an electric hammer for chipping the surface of existing catch basin wall that corresponds to the U-Ditch, also an opening shall be created for the installation of Tite Seal, once done, Formwork and U-ditch process shall take place.5.8.3 Expansion Joints In the places where expansion joints will be installed (every 20m length), Polylon boards shall be placed. Also a water stop type 4, half embedded and half exposed for the next cast. 5.8.4 PolylonPolylon boards will be purchase locally, for detail information, refer to CHEC-SBT-57 and Anex 5.8.4.15.9 Concrete5.9.1 After the formwork is completed, the concrete placing shall be performed for the bottom plate and side wall, with concrete grade of 245kgf/cm2 (See letter CHEC-SBT-045). 5.9.2 The concrete shall be mixed in the mixing plant, and transported to the site by the mixer truck. The first construction length is 20m, and water stops shall be provided at the construction joints, with one half embedded in placed on concrete placement, and the other half
