Teaching materials analyzing and rearranging 教材分析和重组1. 教材分析本单元以Physical appearance为话题,共设计了三个部分的内容。旨在通过单元教学使学生掌握一些描述人物外表的新词汇;学会询问并描述人的基本外貌特征;并继续学习一般现在时的用法。Section A 部分共设计了9个任务型活动。1a要求学生读图后将所给描述人物外表的词汇与相应图片配对;学习这些常用的描述人物外貌特征的词汇,为下面的训练提供语言材料;1b要求学生听录音并根据所获信息将描述Amys friend外表的词汇填在相应的横线上;1c要求学生在教师指导下,以pairwork的形式口头练习“询问及描述人物外表”的句型;2a要求学生根据录音区别has与is的用法;2b要求学生根据录音中对David, Sally, Pete三人外貌特征的描述,填入适当的词汇完成表格;3要求学生针对图画内容,完成一段描述Lilys new friend外貌特征的对话;3a要求学生阅读图片下4段描述人物外貌特征的短文并与相应的图片配对;3b要求学生以pairwork形式操练“询问及描述人物外貌特征”的句型。要求其中一人将课本中所提供的六个名字写在图片旁方格内,另一人利用提问的方式在图片中找到相应的人物;4要求学生以游戏活动形式继续就“人物外貌”这一话题展开训练。要求一个小组成员描述班内某同学的外貌特征,其他小组成员利用提问的方式猜测所描述的人物。Section B部分共设计了9个任务型活动。1a要求学生将所给词汇与相应的图片配对,进一步拓展相关词汇;1b要求学生运用所给表示人物外部特征的词汇对自己熟悉的musicians or actors进行描述;2a要求学生听一段关于Johnny Dean与Tina Brown职业与外貌特征的录音,在表格中填写人物的职业名称;2b要求学生听录音,完成表格中有关人物外貌特征的内容;2c要求学生能描述自己最喜欢的音乐家、演员或运动员的外貌特征;3a要求学生阅读一篇描述Johnny Dean外貌特征变化的短文,完成表格;3b要求学生根据所给Gloria Green的图片,完成一篇描述其外貌特征变化的短文;3c要求学生根据课文写一篇有关自己家庭成员外貌特征的短文;4要求学生以游戏形式继续练习“描述人物外貌特征”。该活动要求小组成员先画出一个人的图片并用语言描述其外貌特征,其他小组成员根据描述画出这个人的图片。其中画得最逼真的获胜。Self Check部分共设计了3项任务。1要求学生辨认并复习所学词汇;2要求学生在自己的词汇表中添加五个新词汇;3要求学生根据图画回答问题。Grammar Focus 归纳“询问及描述人物外貌”的句型,学习do, does的用法。Just for Fun!以卡通形式复习“询问及描述人物外貌”的相关表达。2 教材重组将Section A中1a, 1b, 1c部分设计为一节“听说课(I)”。将Section A中2a, 2b, 2c部分设计为一节“听说课(II)”。将Section A中3a, 3b, 4部分设计为一节“综合技能课”。将Section 中1a, 1b, 2a,2b, 2c部分设计为一节“听说课(III)”。将Section 中3a, 3b, 4部分设计为一节“阅读和写作课”。将Self Check部分设计为一节“自我评价课”。III. His name is Zhang Ming.S3: Yes, thats him.Step Listening (2a, 2b)1. Ask the students to listen to the recording and circle the words “has” or “is”.T: Now listen to the recording. This is a recording about three conversations. The people are talking about their friends. They are using the words to describe their friends. Some of the words go with “has” and some go with “is”. Now listen to the conversations. For the first time, just listen carefully.Play the tape for the first time. Students just listen.T: Well, please circle the correct word after you listen again, either is or has. Now listen.Play the recording once again and then check the answers. 2. Ask the students to listen once again and fill in the chart in 2b.T: Please look at 2b. Read through the given names and words. Listen to the recording again. This time, please listen to the conversations and fill in the forms with right words.Play the recording and then check the answers. T: Well done. Now listen to the conversations and repeat after the recording till you can fully remember them. Step Pairwork (3)1. Ask the students to talk about the chart.T: Great. S3: Peter is short and medium build. He has short hair. .2. Ask the students to talk about the picture in 3. T: Good. Please look at the picture in 3. Nancy is Lilys friend. Can you describe Nancy? You can try!S4: She has long black hair. S5: She is heavy / medium build.S6: She has two big eyes. S7: She is wearing a red skirt. S8: She is very beautiful. 3. Ask the students to complete the conversation.T: Look at 3. First read the given dialogue and look at the picture by themselves. Complete the conversation with the words to describe Nancys appearance. Check the answers. Step IV Pairwork 1. Ask the students to read and act out the conversation.T: OK. Now you can read the conversation then act it out in pairs.If possible, show them the picture on the blackboard:2. Ask the students to make a new conversation.T: OK. Now you can make a conversation by yourselves in pairs. You can describe one of your classmates. Her name is Lily.S5: Yes, youre right.Step Grammar Ask the students to read the sentences in the grammar box.T: Please read the sentences in the grammar box. Then make some sentences with the words “do” or “does”; “is” or “has”.S1: What does your friend look like?S2: What do your friends look like?S3: Does she have long hair?S4: Do you have curly hair?S5: My friend is tall and heavy.S6: My friends are short.Then get the class to sum up how to use the words “do” or “does”; “is” or “has” correctly.
