Warm-up1. GreetingsGreet the students as usual.2. RevisionAsk the students to translate the phrases into English.1. 一本旧英语书。2. 一颗旧美国篮球。3. 三件漂亮蓝色裙子。答案:1. An old English book. 2. Guessing gameThe teacher introduces two students and ask students to guess who he/she is .Ask some students to describe some people after the model and others guess who he/she is Each volunteer will get a score.Step3. Presentation1. Teach the new words.T: If two persons are of the same height and build, how can we tell them?So. If we want to describe a person clearly. We need to describe his / her face too. now , lets learn some new words of the facial organs.Show some pictures of the facial organs. Lead students to recognize them and say them out in English.Then show the correct words and lead students to repeat. Call attention to the pronunciation and intonation.Give them one minute to remember these words. The have a competition. Ask three students to write the new works on the Bb. Each student presents one group. The student who writes most now words will get a score.2. Teach Activity la.First, ask students to have a look at the four pictures in la and try to describe them in Chinese.Then lead them to read the listed words in the box and understand their meanings.Give students three minutes to match the words with the pictures.Later check the answers.Step4. Practice1. Teach Activity 1b.First, lead students to read through the instruction and the example sentence to know how to do this activity.Then give students two minutes to complete the other three sentences. They can fill any famous peoples name in it as they like.Later invite some volunteers to share their answers.2. Listening.(Activities 1c & 1d)T: Now, well do some listening practice. You will hear Maria and Danny talking about Tina Brown and Johnny Dean.Ill play the tape twice.The first time, you need to listen carefully and write Tinas job in the chart.The second time, take some notes about Johnnys and Tinas looks, and finish the row“looks like”in the chart.Play the tape the third time for students to listen and finish the two activities.Ask the students to close their eyes and play the tape for the last time for students to repeat and check the answers.Step 5. ConsolidationTeach Activity le.T: This time, please name a famous person and describe him or her. For example, “ My favorite actor is Brad Peter. Hes tall and he has brown hair.”Ask students to work in small groups.Have students describe a famous person to the group.
