Unit5 I am watching TV(Period 1: Section A 1a,1b, 1c) Teaching objectives: Knowledge objectives: Teach new words The present progressive tense Ability objectives: Enable Ss to talk about what people are doing. Help Ss learn how to listen to and talk about what are people doing. Emotion objectives: Encourage Ss to say what they or people are doing. Enable Ss to have desire to study English and enjoy the lesson.Teaching key points and difficulties Teaching key points: Some new words: Clean, read, TV shows The present progressive tense. Teaching difficulty: The present progressive tense. Teaching methods and aids:task-based language teaching, demonstration, communicative methods Blackboard, pictures, tape recorder, multi-media computer Teaching procedures: Leadin(4mins)(Good evening boys and girls.) Show Ss some pictures with multi-media computer, let them describe the pictures in Chinese, then I give English, let them repeat it follow me. Tell them that it doesnt matter, after this lesson they can describe it better. Presentation(16mins) Teach new words. Give some complements of knowledge.Key words and phrases: clean v.打扫;弄干净We usually clean our classroom after school.Look! The boy is cleaning the windows. Clean adj.干净的;清洁的 cleaner n.清洁工Keep the classroom clean.Please make it clean. wait vt.等候 其宾语为time, hour, turn 而不是具体的人或物。We are waiting to have dinner. Wait vi.等候 wait for sb./sth. 等候某人或某物。We are waiting for you. west 西方;西方的 east 东方 north 北方 south 南方 northeast 东北 northwest 西北 southeast 东南 southwest 西南 shop 买东西;购买go shopping 买东西;购物I often go shopping with my mother on weekends. TV show 电视节目The TV show is too boring. Show Ss some pictures related to real life about the words, such as:Dodoing, readreading; smilesmiling, dancedancing;Runrunning, swimswimming Let Ss observe the sentences on some pictures and induce the pattern of the present progressive tense, and tell them some rules about it( Using a table to show them ):现在进行时表示现在正在进行的动作。现在进行时的构成:肯定式:be( is/ am/ are)+现在分词否定式:be(is/ am/ are)+not+现在分词 一般在动词原形后+ ingGo GoingAsk Asking 以不发音的e结尾的,去e + ingWrite WritingTake TakingDance Dancing以一个辅音结尾的重读闭音节,双写辅音字母+ ingGet GettingRun runningSwim Swimming Practice(15mins) Match work(1a) Ask Ss to turn to page31, read the words and pictures, and match the activities with the pictures af. Check the answers with Ss. Listening(1b) Play the recorder three times. First time, let the students just listen. For the second time, they should write the right answer numbers from 1a. For the last time, I will give them the listening conversation and ask the students to listen to and read follow the recording. Point out the blank lines where students will write numbers from 1a. Pair work(1c) two people in a group. Ask the Ss to practice the following sentences:-Whats he/she doing?-He/She is reading/cleaning/doing homework/ watching TV/eating dinner/talking on the phone. Production(5mins)I and some students will do some actions in front of class, and ask other Ss to describe what teacher and students are doing. Summary(2mins)Today we have learned some new words, the present progressive tense and expressions about what people are doing. Such as what are you doing? - I am watching TV.
