Teaching Key Points:Key vocabulary.Learn to talk about the weather using the target language.Review of the Present Continuous Tense.Teaching Difficulties:Learn to talk about the weather using the target language; Train students listening skills and communicative competence.Teaching Methods: Listening method; Pair work; Oral practice.Teaching Aids: A computer; a projection machine.Teaching Procedures:Step1 Greeting:Greet the whole class as usual.Step2 Warming-up and lead-in:1. Lets enjoy a video:Play a video about weather on the screen.Step3 Revision of the present progressive tense.Review some activities they have learned through pictures.(1)Whats he doing? He is running.(2)What is she doing? She is talking on the phone.(3)What are they doing? They are playing basketball.Step4 Key words and sentencesTalk about the weather:1. Show some pictures of different weather and learn some words through them.2. Show the key words under each picture. rainy windy cloudy snowy sunny 3.Read the key words for several times and help students find out the word regular pattern4.Conclude how to ask and answer the weather A: Hows the weather? Whats the weather like? B: Its Step5 Guessing game1. Showing some pictures on the big screen . Ask students Hows the weather?2. Students guess and answer the question. Step6 Presentation1. Show students some common signs in the weather report and get them to know the signs2. Show a map of China. Ask students to talk about the weather in some cities in China.Teach the sentences blow:A: Hows the weather in ? Whats the weather like in ?B: Its in Show more pictures about the weather in different places(Beijing,Moscow,Toronto,Boston,Shanghai).
