May I have your attention, every one? Good evening, First of all, I would like to present you my lesson plan. My content consists of 6parts. Well, firstly, I will talk about paret1: analysis of students. The students I am going to teach are in their first term in high school. They have learnt the basic knowledge of English, but they are not very active in classroom activities. Then, I will talk about part2: teaching objectives. After this lesson, I hope my students will be to know achieve knowledge, what happened to Pompeii, revise the definition of skimming and scanning. Ability objectives use skimming and scanning to read the passage. Moral objectives, after this lesson, I hope my students can know the important of cooperation. Then, I will talk about teaching difficulties, the passage is about the eruption of the Mount Vesuvius, it is difficult for my students to understand something never happened in their life. Part 4, teaching important points, to train students abilities to summarize the main idea of the passage. Part 5, teaching methods: I am going to use Audio Visual method and cooperative teaching method. Part 6, teaching procedures. Step1, lead in, revise the definition of skimming and scanning and then we will enjoy a video.Step2 pre-reading. Learn the location of Pompeii and the Mount Vesuvius. Step3, group work, to find out the main idea of the passage using skimming and scanning, and then learn the text in details. Step4, have a discussion about their after leaning this lesson. Step5 is summary, and step6 is homework. That is all about my presentation, now, I will begin my class. T: Good evening, boys and girls. Nice to see you again. How are you today? Ss:T: I am glad to hear that. Class, do you still remember what we have learnt last lesson?Ss: T: Good memorize. Before our lesson I would like to enjoy a short video with. Please watching the video carefully and try to find out what it is talking about。 Before we enjoy the video, I would like to give you some pictures which related to the video. Look at these pictures; guess what information they give us.Ss:T: class, are you ready? Lets enjoy the video.T: ok. Any volunteer? Who wants to show me your answer?Ss:T: Good. The girl, please. Please show me your answer. Hands up, please?Yes, the brave boy. Where is the location of Mount Vesuvius? Good. It is located on Italys west coast. Look at this map please, here is Mount Vesuvius. Are you clear now?How about next question? Ss:T: Good, Mount Vesuvius is an active volcano and it is famous for .Ss:T: Yes, Famous for the 79 AD eruption.T: class, Mount Vesuvius is an active volcano, so it is said that it will erupt sometime in the future. Look at this map please. It is danger for all these countries which close to the Mount Vesuvius? Ss: T: Yes, of course. So, today we are going to learn the passage: Pompeii: the facts and find out what Mount Vesuvius brought this city. Class, I would like you to read the passage quickly by yourself and find out answers to these two questionsQ1. What happened to Pompeii in the passage? Q2. When did it happen?Three minutes for you. Now, read by yourself.Ss:T: boys and girls, are you ready?Who can help me? Ss: T: you please. What happened to Pompeii in this passage?Yes, Mount Vesuvius erupted. So, when did Mount Vesuvius erupt?
