He Studies Harder Than He Used to.Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Its my great honor to have this opportunity to talk about some of my teaching ideas today. My topic is He Studies Harder Than He Used to. Its made up of five parts: the analysis of the teaching material, the teaching methods, the teaching procedures, blackboard design and self evaluation. First, let me talk about the teaching material.Part 1 The Analysis of The Teaching Material:The topic of this lesson is about trouble and changes with parents help. The passage gives us a good example about how to solve problems and how to communicate with parents, and it also contains the strong parents love.As for students, they may meet all kinds of stress in life. So they will be interested in this lesson, and they can learn some effective ways to solve problems and relief stress.Learning aims:1. Knowledge aim: Master the new words and new phrases. 2. Ability aims: 1) Be able to guess the meaning of the new words and phrases. 2) Be able to analysis the passage. 3. Morale aim: Be able to understand that our parents love is very great and appreciate our parents.Important and difficult points:1. Be able to analysis the passage. 2. Use the sentence context to guess the meaning of new words and phrases.Part 2 Teaching Methods:Communicative teaching method, up-down reading method and task-based method.Part 3 Teaching procedures:There are four steps in my teaching procedures. But before teaching, I will divide the whole class into 4 groups to do competitions while they finish different tasks in this lesson. Step 1 Pre-reading 1. To lead in this lesson, I will ask the students some questions: Where do your parents work? Does your father or your mother work very far from home? Are you a left-behind child?2. Introduce Li Wen to the students, and tell them that he is a left-behind child. Then ask the students to read the title of the passage, and try to predict: What problems do you think Li Wen might have?(Purpose: through guessing, to arouse Ss learning interest.)Step 2 While-reading 1. Fast reading Let students read the passage quickly and put the four sentences AD in the correct places.(Purpose: through fast reading, to let students have a general understanding about the passage.) 2. Careful reading1) Let students read Paragraph 1 and Paragraph 2 carefully and answer the questions:What problems did Li Wen use to have?What did his teacher do?They can use the key words on the blackboard to help them.2) Let students read Paragraph 3 and Paragraph 4 carefully and answer the questions: How is Li Wen like now? What does he understand now? They can use the key words on the blackboard to help them.3) Let students read the passage again and guess the meaning of the new words and phrases in the box. They can use the sentence context to help them. They can discuss them with their partners.influence absent boarding school in person (Purpose: through careful reading, to train students ability of solving problems by themselves and let students have a deep understanding about the passage.)Step3 Post-reading Let students retell the story. They can use the mind map on the blackboard to help them. Ill give them five minutes.(purpose: to train students skills of overall understanding.)Step4 Summary and Homework 1. Let students sum up what they have learned in this lesson. They can work with their partners. 2. Homework: let students write a letter to their parents to show their love.
