课题:7B Unit 7 Task课型:新授课教学设计设计思路通过情景教学和师生互动活动,让学生在研究交流中经历新的发现,感悟联系生活和自主学习的方法,从而建构模块二Wonderful things的相关知识体系,达到提升学习能力的目的。教学目标知识和技能1.To analyze the structure of a formal letter and explain some language points about it. 2.To learn how to write a formal letters.3.To learn how to use persuasive language to write a recommendation letter.过程与方法1. preparations, presentations and revision2. Situational approach teaching情感、态度与价值观Moral aims: Develop the creativities and imaginations of the students.重点难点重点Get the Ss to write a recommendation letter to recommend a classmate for an award.难点1. To learn how to write a formal letter in a detailed structure.2. To select descriptive and relevant information to write a recommendation letter.教学准备CAI, Preview exercises, pictures, tapeClass handouts教学过程提要教 学 环 节个 人 复 备一、复习旧知引入新课Step 1 Revision 1. Organization of the class. 2. Review the conversation on page 87. (Work in pairs.) 3. Game: A chain talk. eg. A: Can you tell me what you can do and cannot do?B: I can sing but I cant sing well. Can you tell me what you can do and cannot do?C: I can dance well but I cant swim. (Ask the students to say it one by one.)Step 2 Lead-in 1. Free talk: Who can get the Most Helpful Student Award in our class? Why? (Discuss in groups.)二、讲授新课(新知探究)Step 3 : Pre-task preparation1. Present some new words : chairperson, madam, thoughtful, lose, act, housework, likely, whole, drama (Read them loudly and pronounce them correctly.) 2. some language points: 1) recommend sb. for this years Youth Award 推荐某人获得本年度优秀青少年奖 2)sender 发信人 receiver 发信人 greeting 称呼 3)get information from the Internet for the club 为俱乐部从网上获取资料 4)a 5-year-old boy 一位5岁大的男孩 5)lose ones way 迷路 6)teach the children how to draw 教孩子们怎样画画 7)Welook forward to hearing from you soon. 我们盼望不久能收到你的来信。 8)a recommendation letter 推荐信 9)How great! 太棒了! (Read the phrases loudly and try to remember them in class.)Step 4 : Task procedure:1.Learn how to write a recommendation letter (Part A)(1) Listen and answer:a. What award would Mr. Wu like to recommend Daniel for?b. What is Daniel good at?c. Whats his personality?d. What did he do?(Have a discussion in groups and check the answers.)(2) Read the 11 items carefully and explain them.(3) Ask the students to read the letter carefully and try to understand it by themselves.(4) Read it again and find out the key aspects of the content of the letter. (Group work ) (5) Ask the students to put the numbers in the correct boxes. (6) Conclusion about how to write a recommendation letter.2. Write a recommendation letter (Part B)(1) Read the notes together. Explain the notes and some key aspects about how to write a recommendation letter.(2) Ask the students to plan the things they want to say about their chosen person as outlined in Part B1. (3) Complete the letter. ( Each group writes one paragraph. )(4) Invite some groups to read out their part of the recommendation letter.Step 5 : Checkout 1. Competition: (Part B) (1) Ask each group to fill in the crossword puzzle as quickly as possible. (2) Ask the first group to finish the puzzle to present the answers and give them applause if correct. 2. Free talk:Ask the students to practise the six adjectives to make dialogues: eg. What do you think of your best friend? He is very helpful. He often helps me with my English. (Work in pairs to have a talk.) 3. What can they do? (Part A) (1) Ask the students to review the usage of can/could in Grammar. (2) Tell the students to look at the table and read all the plans. (Explain some LPs. do housework, be likely to, dancing lesson, etc.)(3) Ask the students to read what Daniel is thinking about and select the best model verb. (Fill in the blanks.)(4) Check the answers together. 三、拓展延伸Step 6 Practice .用 can / may的正确形式填空(包括其否定形式):1.It is hot summer in Australia. We go swimming there.2.The library is closed now.
