(2)Key Vocabulary: weather , rain - rainy - raining ,snow - snowy - snowing ,windy , cloudy , sunny, cook (3)Target language:- How is the weather ? /Whats the weather like?- Its rainy /sunny /cloudy/ windy/snowing .- What are you doing?- Im having an English class /cooking.2.Ability Object:使学生学会用英语结合地点来谈论天气,并通过合作学会播报简单的天气预报。3.Moral Objects: (1)教育学生善于关注天气,热爱大自然,享受生活;(2)通过学科渗透、文化意识渗透来了解一些重要城市,著名的建筑和英美文化习俗;Teaching Key Points (1) Master the key words and sentences . (2) Be able to describe the weather .Teaching Difficult Point To learn to Talk about the weather .Teaching Methods Listening and writing methods; Guessing game ;Pairwork; Groupwork .Teaching Aids a computer Teaching ProceduresStep I Leading in1. T: Today were going to learn Unit 7,Its raining. In this class,well continue learning to talk about what people are doing. Andwell also learn to talk about the weather. Whats the Chinese for“weather”? Teach the word weather. Tell them its an uncountable noun.2.Show some pictures and ask the students what people are doing to review the Present Progressive Tense. Teach the new word “cook”.2. Show a picture. T: Are they playing basketball? Ss: No,they arent.T: Why not? Ss :Because its raining.T:The weather is bad. So they arent playing basketball .Theyre singing. Now lets learn to talk about the weather.Step II Presentation Show the students some pictures of the weather and learn the other new words by asking “Hows the weather ?”Step III Practice in pairs or in groups 1.Practice asking and answering “How is the weather ? ” in pairs .2.Play a game : Guess: How is the weather ?Ask them “Do you know how to ask about the weather ?”.Then say its another way of saying Whats the weather like? 3.Practice asking and answering “How is the weather ? ” in different cities . Activity 1a :Match the words with the pictures a - e .4.Challenge to the host: Ask a few students to come to the front to do a weather report.Weather reportHello, everyone! Here is the weather report. Its _ in .Its in .Thats all .Thank you. See you next time. Step IV Listening : Activity 1b and Activity 2a and 2b. 1.Listen and write these city names in the boxes above . After listening , check the answers together . 2. Listen and number the pictures(1-4)3.Listen again. Match the names with the activities.After listening , check the answers together . Step V A song: How is the weather? Step VI Talking on the phone. T: Suppose you want to go somewhere far, please call your friendthere to know about the weather. Ask the students to work in Pairs .Step VII Writing Show the students a picture of a park .They work in groups to write a short passage. Get them to describe the weather and what people are doing.Step VIII Summary 1. Care for the weather ,love the nature and enjoy your life .2.
