Unit3 Im more outgoing than my sister Teaching Designs (1a-1c) (一). Teaching Aims:1) Knowledge ObjectsStudents learn to talk about personal traits and how to compare people。Learn the rules of changing adjectives into comparative degree. Help to use comparative degree to compare two people. 2) Ability ObjectsTo train the students ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing. To train the students ability of communicative competence.3) Moral ObjectsTo have students understand people have quite different traits, but they should overcome the bad habits and keep good healthy habits. To encourage students to be brave, honest, kind people.(二)Teaching difficulties and key points:Describe people and objects with the comparative degrees.(3) Teaching processStep1:Lead-in (1) Greetings.(拉近与学生的距离,减少学生的紧张感。)(2) T:I have a sister.Can you guess what she looks like?S1:Does she have big eyes?S2:Is she tall?S3:Is she beautiful?S4:Does she have long hair?S5:Is she fat?(设计此环节,让学生用学过的形容词描绘别人,通过猜我妹妹外表的方式极大地调动了学生的好奇心和用英语表达的兴趣,为后面的新课学习做好铺垫。)Step2:New words(read and repeat)both,loudly,serious,better,outgoing,quietly.(此环节,首先老师带读学生跟读,便于学生模仿语音语调。其次,通过分组朗读,男女交叉朗读,便于培养学生的竞争意识,同时能调动他们学习英语的积极性。)Step3:comparative degrees比较级构成(教材114页)窗体顶端summarize the comparatives. A+ be(v) + 比较级 + than + B.比较级,要变化,一般词尾加er。 (long-longer)词尾若有哑音e, 直接加r就可以。 (nice-nicer)重读闭音节, 单辅音字母要双写。 (big-bigger)辅音字母若加y, 记得把y变为i。 (happy-happier)多音节词、部分双音节词词前加more副词若以ly结尾,前面直接加上more (loudly-more loudly) 窗体底端(通过顺口溜的有趣形式,总结了形容词或副词比较级的规则,减少了语法学习的单调枯燥。)Step4:lb listening窗体顶端(先听大意,再听细节,初步用听的技能获取、处理和传递所需信息。理解文段后,进行听力模仿,感知英语发音特点,提高口语表达水平。)Step5:Presenting 1. ask ss to see the pictures about different stars. then compare some of their things with each other. show some pictures to ss. say they are stars-film stars, sports stars and so on. ask ss to tell what they see. ask ss to use the words: tall, wild, thin, long hair, short hair, heavy, calm, short and so on.在本活动中通过听说法配合多媒体辅助教学导入新课,进行师生互动活动引出本课的话题,用多媒体显示图画,如用姚明来让学生感觉单词tall,并以一个矮个short的人物来形成比较,通过连续几幅夸张的比较图片让学生认识并掌握本课所要学的基本词汇,并引出比较级的句子,本环节以学生原有的知识为切入点谈论过去所做的活动,不知不觉地将学生引入教学交往的境地,进入本课的话题,达到润物细无声之效果,使学生形成积极的情感,主动思维,并形成良好的语感。 2. show some pictures to make students pay attention to the word “than” and “er” (导入要联系所学的内容,使学生自然而然地进入新课的学习。) show the pictures and ask students to compare two things.The pear is (smaller/bigger)than the apple.The English teacher is (quieter/funnier)than Zhao Benshan.Jim is (heavier/thinner)than Ted.Li Xiaomai is (cuter/funnier)than Pan Changjiang.Li Yong is(funnier/more serious)than Shui Junyi.Pan Changjiang is (shorter/taller)than Liu Xiang.Zhang Shaohan is (thinner/fatter)than Fei Fei.Li Yuchun has (shorter/longer)hair than Liu Yifei.Bi Fujian has(bigger/smaller)eyes than Zhao Wei.The little girl is much(younger/older)than the old man.Jackie Chan is (stronger/quieter)than Lu Yu.(通过直观形象具有强烈反差的图片做对比,激发了学生利用学过的语法知识操练口语的能力。)Step5:1c Pairwork(对话练习)Practice in pairs and act out(两两对话并表演).(激发了学生展示自我,并能用本节课所学的内容活学活用。)Step6: sing a song 让学生们听唱一首与比较级有关的英文歌曲the more we get together,增加他们对英语学习的兴趣。Step7: Saying(名言警句) Dont look down on yourself, you are always better than others in some ways. 不必自卑,每个人都有优点。 Step8:Summry(总结本堂课内容)T: Today weve learnt some key words and learnt how to compare people. After class, compare your school things, then read the key words and learn them by heart. I hope you can study harder than ever so that you can make more progress.
