(10分)阅读理解How many times have you noticed that a person talking with you seems to be distracted by phone? You feel the person is not completely into a conversation and with more attention. Phubbing is defined as the act of snubbing someone in a social setting by looking at the phone instead of paying attention. This is what is called Phubbing. How Phubbing influences peopleI have been through this, and it went so deep that I started disconnecting from everyone around me. They felt that I had been ignormg them. Family and friends need their time with you, yet I was busy exploring social media either for work or fun.Physical & Mental HealthIts resulting in severe neck pains. Keeping your head lowered and looking at the phone all the time, does hurt in the long term. You might not even see it coming. Also, you have concentrated on the phone so much that you get totally cut off from the real world. How to stop PhubbingIt was not really easy to concentrate on something else or jump into a conversation right after I had kept my phone down. Finally, I decided to change and lay down some rules, and here I am sharing with you.No Phone Zone at HomeWhile taking it completely off wasnt a solution. So we came up with no phone zones. I kept down my phone for next 3 hours after I reached home. The phone was kept in another room and was only to be attended when an important call came inNo Phone Zone with FriendsThis was even tougher, and the only way out was to tum down the ringer completely. Keep the phone in the pocket, and if you feel calls are very important, you can always connect with a Bluetooth earphone, and attend them. I always made sure that when friends meet, everyone kept our phones away. It wasnt really easy I had to fight my sense of expectation of getting a message. Now, I have realized that things were improving after I started following the rules. My concentration was better, and I was communicating well with my family and friends. I was able to discuss topics which I always missed during Phubbing.(1)Which of the following do you think is the most suitable subtitle in the ? A . Personal relationsB . Family and friendsC . (8分) The word “day” has two meanings. When we talk about the number of days in a year, we are using “day” to mean 24 hours. But when we talk about day and night, we are using “day” to mean the time between sunrise and sunset. Since the earth looks like a ball, the sun can shine on only half of it at a time. Always one half of the earth is having day and the other half night. A place is moved from day into night and from night into day over and over by the spinning(旋转)of the earth. At the equator(赤道)day and night are sometimes the same length(长度). They are each twelve hours long. The sun rises at 6 oclock in the morning and sets at 6 oclock in the evening. For six months the North Pole is tilted(倾斜)toward the sun. In those months the Northern Hemisphere(半球)gets more hours of sunlight than the Southern Hemisphere. Days are longer than nights. South of the equator nights are longer than days. For the other six months the North Pole is tilted away from the sun. Then the Southern Hemisphere gets more sunlight. Days are longer than nights. North of the equator nights are longer than days. Winter is the season of long nights. Summer is the season of long days.(1)When the Western Hemisphere is having day, the eastern Hemisphere is having _.A . both day and nightB . dayC . neither day nor nightD . night(2)A place is moved from day into night and from night into day over and over by _ of the earth.A . the pushingB . the pullingC . the spinningD . the passing(3)At the equator day is as long as night _.A . sometimesB . neverC . usuallyD . always(4)When the North Pole is tilted toward the sun, the Northern Hemisphere gets _ sunlight.A . lessB . moreC . allD . no三、 单词拼写 (共1题;共7分)4. How can I tell her no?White ShirtAnswerDear White Shirt,We never want to disappoint our friends, but we should never do things that we shouldnt do just to make others happy.Throughout your life, you will probably be asked to do things that you dont think you should do. It sound like you could have a problem saying no to people, but rather than be direct(直接的), there are other ways to deal with this kind of s_.Instead of simply saying “No”, try to give reasons for your d_For example, if a friend asked you to swim in the river but you dont want to, you could say, “ I dont think thats wise. The waters very cold and theres n_around to help us if we get into danger.”Its wrong of your friend to risk getting you into trouble. If she were a t_friend, she wouldnt ask you to break the rules. If she asks you to do something you dont want to next time, just explain to her w_you dont want to do it. You should never do anything that you think is wrong.Perhaps you friend was just looking for a bit of excitement, but if she wants to break the rules, she shouldnt make you feel bad for not doing so.If you really want to keep the friendship, tell her that you dont want either of you to get into trouble.
