Improve their communication abilities and confidence.Teaching contents:Vocabulary: listening to music, washing the clothes, cleaning the room, writing a letter, writing an e-mailLanguage structure: What is doing? - He She is .Teaching aids: blackboard, picturesType of the lesson: vocabulary, speakingTeaching procedures:Step1. Review (10 mins )a) Show the students the pictures and read the vocabulary together learned in the last lesson: drawing pictures, doing the dishes, cooking dinner, reading a book, answering the phone.T: Wow, its a nice day. Whats the weather like today?S: Its sunny.T: Yes, its sunny. Its nice to have our lesson.T: First, lets have revision.Whats this? (The teacher show the pictures and the students speak the phrases.)S: .b) Review the language structure learned in the last lesson: What are you doing? -I am doing the dishes. (The teacher read one of the phrases, and all the students ask the teacher by “What are you doing?” The teacher answers.) T: Doing the dishes.S: What are you doing?T: I am . Step2. Presention (15 mins )a) Show the new pictures and new phrases (listening to music, washing the clothes, cleaning the room, writing a letter, writing an e-mail);T: Now I will act and you guess what I do, understand? S: Yes.T: (act listening to music) Come on, ask me “What are you doing?” S: What are you doing?T: You guess.S: Students guess.T: Yes, I am listening to music. Ask me again.S: What are you doing?T: I am listening to music. (come to blackboard and write down the phrase)T: Next one.Wao, there are many clothes,I have to work hard.Ask me, please.S: What are you doing?T: You guess.S: Students guess.T: Yes , ask me again.S: What are you doing?T: I am washing the clothes. ( write the phrase on the black board) The teacher encourages the students to come up the front and pick a picture and act. Other students ask what are you doing?S1: (Pick up a picture.)Ss: What are you doing?S1: I am .S2: (Pick up a picture.)Ss: What are you doing?S2: I am .(b)The teacher immitate and lead in the new language structure: What is doing?-HeShe is .S3: (Pick up a picture.)Ss: What are you doing?S3: I am .T: What is she doing? (T ask Ss.)S: She is writing a letter.Step3. Practice (10 mins )a) divide into two groupsG1:What is she doing?G2: She is .(change)G2: What is she doing?G1: She is .b) Answer the phone: Practice in groups of three (The teacher demonstrate.)T: Can you two help? I need some help.S: .T: I call you (S1) What are you doing? And you (S1) answer me. And then I call you (S2) and ask what is she (S1) doing?And you (S2) answer. Do you understand?Ss: Yes. T: I have a friend Amy. She has many family members: grandfather, father, mother, sister and brother. Today they are all at home. Now, lets go to visit them and see what are they doing, OK?T: Now we are all at Amys home. And then Ill act what they do.When I act, you should ask “What are you doing?” Understand?Ss: .T: Now I am grandfather. (do the action)Ss: What are you doing?T: I am .(The teacher play the roles of Amys family members in turns.)T: Now lets act Amys family members.Who wants to try?Ss: .T: Hello.
