Analysis of the Teaching Material(一)Tasks and Function The topic of Unit 2 lesson 4 is “Superhero”. Through the study of the first three lessons,the students have learnt some information about space hero Yang Liwei, history maker-Martin Luther King and sports stars-Williams sisters. And in this lesson, the students will have grasped a general idea of the great qualities of a hero and learn how to deal with difficuties when they are in trouble. (二)Teaching Aims 1 .Language-knowledge aims (1) To get students to understand the context (2) To get students to learn the useful news words and expressions in this test2. Ability aims (1) To improve students reading ability, especially the ability to find the topic sentences (2) To train the students to grasp key information and the main idea of the article while reading (3) To practice students speaking ability3. Emotion aims (1) To train the students awareness of good co-operation (2) To activate the students interest of learning English (3)To make the students know what is the spirit of a hero and learn from heroes (4)To know how to deal with difficulties when in trouble (三)Teaching Important and Difficult Points1. Difficult point: how to enable the students to express their opinions about heroesStep II. Analysis of the students Most students in our school come from the countryside and havent mastered English well in Junior Middle school. They are lack of vocabularies and dont form habits of memorizing English words. Some students are not active in the class because they are afraid of making mistakes. They dont often use English to express themselves and communicate with others. Students are interested in famous peopleStep III.
