Unit 11 How was your school trip ?Period 1 Section A(1a-2c) Zhou Renhua from Chisha Middle SchoolContext analyze: This is the first period of this unit. This period is aim to train the studentsskill of speaking, listening, reading and writing. In this period, students are required to learn the new words and expressions,including their past forms. Students will be better able to talk about past events with the simple past tense.Teaching aims and demands:1. Knowledge Objects :New words & Phrases:milk, cow, horse, feed, farmer, quite, anything, grow, farm, pick, milk a cow, ride(rode) a horse, feed(fed) chickens, quite a lot (of)Target Language: -How was your school trip? -It was great!-Did you see any cows? -Yes, I did. I saw quite a lot.-Did Carol ride a horse? -No, she didnt. But she milked a cow. -What did Carol do? -She picked strawberries.2.Ability Objects:Talk about past events with the simple past tense.3.Emotional Objects:Help Ss to share their sweet and unforgettable memories with others.Teaching key points:1.Learn the new words and the sentences .2. Talk about past events with the simple past tense.Teaching difficult points:Talk about past events with the simple past tense.Teaching ProceduresStep 1 : Greeting and lead-in 1.Greeting 2.Ask Ss about what they usually do on weekends.3.Go on asking Ss:What did you do last weekend?How was your last weekend? Help Ss to answer,using the past tense of the verbs.Step 2 : Presentation1 Show a picture and tell Ss: Last week Carol and his classmates had a school trip. They went to the farm. What did they do on the farm? How was their school trip? 2 Show some pictures again and try to get the past tense verbs expressions according to the pictures.Step 3 Vocabulary 1.1a Match the phrses with the pictures.and then check the answers 2.Guessing game:Organize Ss to play a game to guess Carols classmates activities with the help of pictures;Q1: What did she/he/they do?Q2: Did she/he/they?Step 4 Listening practice 1b Listen and circle the three things Carol did on her school trip in 1a.Step 5 Pairwork1c Ask and answer questions about Carols school trip.A: Did Carol take any photos?B: Yes, she did.Step 6 Listening practice2a Ask Ss to read the questions in 2a and listen for the questions they hear.Check the answers.2b Introduce some phrases to help Ss to understand 2b and listen again for T or F.Check the answers.Step 7 PairworkAsk and answer questions about Tinas visit to the farm.
