Warming up First show students some pictures of cute dogs and cats.T: I like cats and dogs very much. They are my favorite pets. Do you like them? Lead the students to give their answers. T:Do you want to know more animals? OK, lets go to the zoo.Step 2 Leading in Show the pictures of the zoo and many animals and teach:zoo animal panda tiger elephant lion koala giraffe 1. Lead the students to look at the pictures and listen and repeat.2. 1a. Finish this activity with the students.3. Then help them to do a guessing game. Describe the animal and get students to guess what animal it ise.g Its a shy animal, its big and fat. And its black and white, and it is from Sichuan, China. (Panda)Do you know what it likes eating?In this activity, teach students shy and China, then repeat this activity to teach the new words: smart, scary, cute, lazy, beautifulThen students listen and repeat.Step 3 Listening practice 1b.1. Play the tape for the students to check the animals they hear and then check your answers. 2. Students listen again and repeat what you hear.3. Then ask students their opinions about these animals and help them to tell the class. Step 4. Practice1c. Practice the conversation with your partner. Then make conversations about other animals in 1a. Use the words in the box. Students work in pairs and then ask some pairs to act their conversations out. A: Lets see .s.B: Why do you like them?A: Because I think they are . Then practice the following conversationsC: What animals does he/she like?D: He/She likes .s.C: Why does he/she like them?D: Because he/ she thinks they are . Step 5. Presentation Show a map of the world to the students.T: Where are pandas from? Do you know?Help students to answer: They are from China. Repeat with the following: Lion /South Africa Koala /Australia Teach China, South Africa, Australia and the following conversation:A: Where are pandas from?B: They are from China.Students practice in pairs.Step 6. Listening1. 2a. Play the tape for the students to finish 2a.2. 2b. Play the conversation again and students listen and complete the conversation with the words in 2b.3. Students read after the tape.Step 7. Practice Practice the conversation in 2a in pairs. Homework Writing: Introduce the animals you like.
