Read the words and expressions loudly . this can help students improve their spoken English .(2) Past forms of some verbs The pictures show different activities. The students can see some past tense verbs by reading after me . (3) Rules of the past tense verbs Help the students find the rule of the past tense verbs . Then present a chart . I will divide the verbs which were presented just now into groups , then ask the students to find the rules .2. Practice ( 1 ) Phrase practice To practice more verbs, I will give the students more pictures with different verbs .( 2 ) Sentence pattern practice To help the students recognize the target language in natural speech . Before 1a , have the students work in pairs , taking turns to talk about the pictures . Did you +V ? Yes , I did . I + V-ed No , I didnt . I didnt +V( 3 ) Matching 1a. Match the words with the pictures to be familiar new verbs past tense forms .3. Listening To help the students recognize the target language in natural speech Before 1b , remind the students that they are only listening for the things that Carol “did” do . Explain that there may be pictures in 1a with things she didnt do .4. Pairwork To help the students use the target language in natural speech . I will ask them some questions about the listening .5. Listening To give the students listening practice with the target language . Before 2a, have the students read the question out loud . This help me ensure that they have fully read the question and answer options . 6. Presentation To give the students a chance to know something about the past simple tense .( 1 ) The knowledge structure To get the student to know the composition , the usage and the time symbol of the past simple tense .( 2 ) The specific requirements of the past tense verbs . To help the students grasp the difficult point of this lesson .( 3 ) The pronunciation of the past tense verbs ( 4 ) The syntactic structure Present different patterns of the past simple tense . 7.
