Unit 10If you go to the party,youll have a good time. The first Period(listening and speaking)一, Analysis of teaching material1.SectionA, as the first period of Unit10, is a lead-in part,and its also a listening and speaking lesson.In this lesson,the students will have to learn if sentence pattern and sth interesting of going to a party. 2. If sentence pattern is very important in this unit.I think if students can learn If sentence pattern very well, it will be easier for them to learn the rest of this unit.2,The analysis of the studentsAs we know,the students of Grade 8 are really different from those in the other grades.Most students in my class are interested in learning and speaking English.Some of them have learned English for only more than 1 year, but some of them have learned English for several years.That s really difficult to make all of them open their mouths and active in speaking English,but Im trying ,trying my best to overcome these difficulties and complete the language goals.3.Teaching aims(1)Aims of basic knowledge:1.Key vocabulary:Jeans, let in , have a good time2.Key structure:_ I think Im going to the party with Karen and Ann._ If you do,youll have a great time.I think Ill ride my bike.Aims of abilities:To train studentsability of listening and speaking.To train students ability of communication.Aims of emotion and evaluation:To be interested in learning English.Teaching important pointsKey structures:If you do , youll What will happen if ?Teaching difficult points:1.Master the key structure: If you do , youll2.Make correct conversation using the target language.Teaching methods1.Situation simulating method.2.Task-based method.3.Listening and speaking method.Teaching toolsA computer for multimedia use.Teaching procedures:Step 1.Greetiings before classUsing the song ofJulisto make a self introductionStep 2.Warming up Watch a short video and some pictures to lead in the new lesson.Step 3.Brainstorm competitonWatch an interview and let Ss retell“If he/she is happy, what will he/she do? ”At the same time ,the students practice the sentences.Step 4.Presentation and activity 1a/1b1.Point out the four pictures and get students to tell what they see.2.Ask two students to read the conversations in the speech bubbles in the first picture.3.Ask the students to match the statements and responses.4.Listen to the conversation and check the answers.5.Consolidate the sentences.Step 5.Pair work1.Everybody is very busy ,ask ss to make a dialogue by using “If I have a lot of time , I will .”.2.Ask some students to act the conversation out.Step 6.Tongue twisterAsk some students to read the tongue twister to relax themselves and then ask some students to have a competition.Step 7.Make an If story(Group work)Give students a supposing situation about Julia ,and then the students begin to make up the story by using “If she has a lot of money, she will ” as an example.Then ask the students in groups to make their own stories in different situations.At last ask the group leaders to act their stories out.Step 8.Summary and the emotional education.No pains , no gains.If we work hard, our dreams will come true.Step 9.HomeworkLevel AMake sentences by using “If , will ”.as much as possible.Level BWrite a passage “If I am a ,I wi
