Moral objects:1) Understand the British and American culture.2) Lead students to respect and love others.Teaching important points:1) 掌握本课时出现的生词及表达方式。2) 进行听力训练,简单复述原文,提高综合听说能力。 3)阅读短文,获得相关信息,提高学生们的综合阅读能力。Teaching difficult points:1)阅读短文并完成相关要求。2)按照要求写作文。 Teaching methods:1. Reading and speaking practice.2. Autonomous and cooperative approach.3. Communicative approach, group work.Teaching tools: PPTTeaching procedures:Step 1 Lead in1. Play a song. (播放歌曲感恩的心英文版。)2. Have a discussion: (议一议)1) Whats the date today? Whats the date tomorrow? -Its .2) What day is it today? What day is it tomorrow? -Its .Tomorrow is the fourth Thursday in November. Its a special day.Do you know what festival tomorrow is? (通过对日期的询问引出马上到来的感恩节) 。What do you know about thanksgiving? If you want to know more about thanksgiving, please follow me. Lets study the article Thanksgiving in the United States. It can tell us more about thanksgiving.Step 2 Presentation the first part一、Listen to the recording of the text. Students follow the tape to skim the text. (听录音,学生跟随录音快速浏览文章) Task one:How many parts are there in the text?The first part is about., and the second part is about通过对第一部分的概括,引出第一部分中的新单词:Thanksgiving, traditional, autumn, traveler, England, celebrate. 二、Group work:Divide the passage into two parts. Read the first part carefully and let the students finish the following tasks.(小组活动:把这篇文章分为两部分,首先让学生认真阅读第一部分,要求学生完成以下任务。)Task two:Read part one and answer the questions. (p62) :1. Where do people celebrate thanksgiving?2. When do people celebrate it?3. Why do people celebrate it?4. How do people celebrate it now?5. What is the main dish of the thanksgiving meal?Show the key points in this paragraph according to these five questions. (以这个五个问题4个w,一个h,为线索来讲解这一段落的主要知识点.)Step 3 Presentation the second part1. Lead-in the main dish of Thanksgiving: turkey. And show some pictures to attract the students attention on making turkey for a thanksgiving dinner. (通过所学内容,以及呈现一些图片很自然地导入到第二部分:怎样为感恩节制作火鸡。)2Group work:Read the second part, let the students find out what do we need and how to make turkey for a thanksgiving dinner. And finish task three. (小组活动:要求学生认真阅读第二部分,并且找出制作火鸡所需材料及步骤。)Task three: lets make turkey for thanksgiving dinner.3. Teach the new words and the key points in this part according to the procedures.(通过一步一步展示火鸡制作过程来呈现这部分的新单词和重要知识点。)4. Let the students finish activity 2b.
