Arouse the students in the city to pay more attention to the students in the village and help the students in need, especially for the rural area. Meanwhile, they should cherish what they have now and strive for the future. Practice more about the reading skills.2. Analysis of the studentsThe students are in Grade one, they have learned English for near a year, they know a few reading skills, teachers should practice more to enable students to master the skills well.3. teaching aims and demands:I. knowledge objects:i. The words and expressions in section Bcross, river, many, village, betweenand , bridge, boat, ropeway, year, like, afraid, leave, dream, true, come true.ii. New sentence patterns:There is a very big river between their school and the village.Hes like a father to me.There is no bridge and the rivers runs too quickly for boats.Can their dream come true?II. Ability objects:i. To provide reading practice with the target language, enable students to practice more reading skills and find the answer correctly and fast. III. Emotion objects:Students should learn how to help others, cherish what we have now and strive for the future.4. Teaching important points and difficult points:I. Teaching important points:Different reading skills. Teachers should pay more attention to the reading strategies.II. Teaching difficult points:Master the words and expressions about the transportation and how to transfer the means of transportation.Part 4: Teaching aids PowerPointPart 5: Teaching method Task-based methodPart 6: Teaching procedure: Step1:Greeting Say hello to everyone, and ask students question: How do you go to school every day? Repeat students answers in another sentences. Purpose:Review the sentence patterns they have learned and lead in what we will learn today. Step 2: PredictionAccording to the picture to predict what we will learn today.Purpose: Arouse students attention and take interested in what we will learn.Step3: Fast readingThis is the first time to read the whole passage, students should find the answer to the questions in a certain time, its better to read the sentence in the passage.Purpose: Enable students to find the key sentences and key points correctly and quickly.Step4: Careful readingIn this period, there are three questions for students. Teacher will guide them to find each answer in the paragraphs. Meanwhile teacher can also show them the mind-map step by step.Purpose: Guide students to answer the questions step by step and the mind-map will help them to know the passage well.Step5: True or false questionsRead the passage again and find the answer quickly, students should also correct the answers which are wrong.Purpose: Find the details in the passage, enable students to find the adjectives and adverbs in the passage, then think about the opposite meanings.Step 6: Group discussionStudents discuss how to help the students in the rural area and what they can do to help them.Purpose: Students should learn to help others, cherish what they have now and strive for the future.Step 7: SummarySummarize the whole passage by looking at the mind-map on the blackboard, then show some picture what we have and the students in the village dont have
