Period One Section A (1a 2c) 梅林月l Teaching objects(教学目标)1.Knowledge object (知识目标)1.To learn the new words: square, meter, deep, desert, population, Asia2.To learn to express large numbers.3.To learn to talk about geography and nature. Qomolangma, the Nile, the Sahara, the Caspian Sea, the Yangtze River, the Yellow River2.Teaching methods(教学方法) Employ task-based teaching mode,and get the students to learn basic sentence patterns by listening and drilling.(任务型教学以及通过听说反复训练。)3.Emotion attitudes and value(情感态度与价值) Lead students to love the nature.l Important and difficult points(教学重难点) 1.Phrases: in size, in the world, 2 meters tall/long/wide, the biggest population, one of the biggest, etc 2.Sentences: -Whats the highest mountain in the world? -Qomolangma.-How long is Qomolangma? -Its 8,844.43 meters high. Its higher than any other mountain. 3. Learn to use comparatives and superlatives to describe things.l Teaching procedures(教学过程)Step 1 :Lead-in Greetings:Ask the students some questions:“How many students in our class/school?”“How many people at the square?”(通过询问问题,引出本节课第一个重点“大数字”)Step 2 Presentation1. Target1 Large numbers Teach the students to say large numbers in English. (学生需要掌握英文中阿拉伯数字和在中文中书写的区别,以及如何用英文说出这些数字。)2. Target2 The students have to learn to talk about geography and nature by using comparatives and superlatives with adjectives and adverbs.Use some pictures to teach some places: Qomolangma, the Nile, the Sahara, the Caspian Sea.(运用图片教授一些地理名词,同时也运用本单元第一个重点句型 Whats the highest mountain in the world? 来进行练习。由于本单元重点之一还有比较级和最高级,所以在此环节中也简单的复习了一下一些形容词的比较级和最高级,让同学们尽快回忆起来这部分的内容。)Step 3 Listening1.Listening 1 (1a-1c) Before listening(听前):1a. Match the facts you know.Ask students questions: “How high is Qomolangma?”(本节课中第二个重要的句型引入到1a的任务) Finish 1a and check the answers. And help the students to answer: “Its meters/kilometers/cm big/high/long/big”. And then explain the sentence patterns. While listening(听力进行中): 1b.Listen and complete the sentences. Play the recording twice and ask the students to finish 1b. Then check the answers together. After listening(听后):1.Explain some difficult phrases. 2.1c Pairwork Practice the important sentences: -Whats the highest mountain in the world? -Qomolangma.2.Listening 2 (2a-2c) Before listening(听前):1. Ask students to say the numbers in 2a in English. 2.Learn the new words and phrases: the Yangtze River, the Yellow River, population, Asia. While listening(听力进行中): 1. 2a Listen and number the facts(1- 4) in the order you hear them. 2. 2b Listen again and fill in the blanks in 2a with the numbers in the box. After listening(听后): 2c.Make conversations using the information in 2a. (运用听力材料中中国的4个方面来进行比较级和最高级的演练。)Step4 Language points 1. Show some language points .(知识拓展) 2.Ask the students to do some exercises.(练习巩固)Step6 Emotion ImprovementShow some photos of the beautiful world and the destroyed world. Let the students know the importance of protecting the nature.(情感升华:我们需要保护大自然。)Step7 Homework1. Review and recite the knowledge of this lesson.(复习与背诵)2
