respectively whichcontributedsignificantlytothelabormarket Religiousdiversity Americanreligionhasdiversity ImmigrationfromSouthAsiaandelsewherehascontributedtoenlargingthereligiouscompositionoftheUnitedStates IslamintheUnitedStatesisgrowingmainlyduetoimmigration HinduismintheUnitedStates manyotherracesinAmericanarediscriminatedbythelocalpeopleandtheydon thaverighttoprotectthemselves IllegalImmigrants Estimatesin2015putthenumberofunauthorizedimmigrantsat11million representing3 4 ofthetotalU S population ThemajorityoftheillegalimmigrantsarefromMexico TheissueofillegalimmigrationhaslongbeencontroversialintheUnitedStates Thereisnothingnewaboutthepoliticalandculturaltensionsthesemigrationsbring Assimilationtakes atleast ageneration forobviousreasons Residentsdislikesomeoftheconsequencesiftheyaredirectlyaffectedbyimmigrantarrivals orfearthem However thereisnoevidencethatillegalimmigrationincreasestherateofcrimeintheUnitedStates America sModernImmigrantsProblem Assimilation Wehavelearnedmuchaboutthefoolishideaofexcludingpeopleonthepresumptionoftheethnic racialinferiority
