As we all know, reading has a great effect in our lives. Therefore this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material.2. Teaching procedures Step 1 :Leading-inT:My clever boys and girls, you are always hard-working, and most of you like reading books. What kind of books do you like to read? ( show the different kinds of books :the storybooks, the comic books, the novels) Me, too. I like the traditional stories like Journey to the West very much. Have you read it? Its a classic. ( Show the four classics) Have you ever read these classics? Yes. We have read those classics.设计意图:从谈论读书开始,介绍学生熟悉的中国名著,引入本节课的话题。Step 2:Presentation1T: Have you ever read any classics from western countries like the United States and the United Kingdom? ( No.) Then have you heard of the books? Read the titles of books. (T show the pictures of books titles.)Ss: ( Read the names of the books)T: Do you know the main characters of the books? Maybe you can get the names from the book titles.Ss: Alice, Olive, Tom, Robinson 2T: Thats right. Here are some pictures about the books in Activity 1a.In order to name them quickly, give letters first. ( Do it with students: Letter a, b, c, d, e, f ) Now please match the pictures in 1a.3Check the answers. T: What are the pictures about? T:I have already read Robinson Crusoe. Its about a man who lived on a desert island for 28 years, and during that time he saved another man named Friday. I think the story is fantastic. But I have never read Treasure Island. I have just heard of it. Which books have you read ? S1: I have read S2: I havent read 设计意图:根据学情,首先需要确认学生会认读书名。故将1a的活动改为图片与书名配对与认读。在认知书名之前,可以通过标注图片序号,以便学生可以快速完成任务。核对答案时,检查学生是否可以流畅地读出书名。然后陈述自己已读和还未读的著作,为学生陈述提供模板。Step 3:ListeningT: I know reading the classics in English is difficult for you . How about the students in the USA? Some students are talking about books. Who are they? Ss: ( Read the students names one by one.)T: Which ones are boys names? And which ones are girls names? Ss: Nick, Alan and Harry are boys names. Judy, Sandy and Kate are girls names.T: Thats right. What books are they talking about? Write down the letters instead of the names under the book titles. Who has read the books? What do they think of the books? Listen to check them, and make notes about the adjectives.2. T: Have you read Little women yet? Read the conversation about it . Pay attention to the words “yet” and “already”. What do they mean in the sentences here?Ss : “已经”. T: ( To a student ) I have never read Treasure Island. Have you ?S1: Yes, I have. / No, I havent.T: Have you ever heard of that?S1: Yes.T: Ive just heard its exciting.2. Make the following conversation with all the students.- Have you read Treasure Island yet?- No, I havent. Have you?- Yes, I have. I have already read it. - Whats it like?- Its interesting/fantastic/wonderful/.3. Now talk about the books youve read with your partners .Show more pictures to help the students.4. Invite some pairs show their conversations,设计意图:在结对活动环节,还是采用先师生对话的方式,引入ever, never,Ive heard that从句,丰富语言内容,激活语言交流兴趣。对话展示之后进行肯定评价。 Step 5: Listening 1. T: Now I know some of you have read many books. Then who has read Treasure Island, Oliver Twist, Robinson Crusoe and Tom Sawyer ? Raise your hands.Ss: ()T: None? Who else has read all of these four books, Tiny or Mark ? listen and circle the names in Activity 2a.Ss: Tiny has.2. Check the answers by asking questions to let students answer: Tina has read Treasure Island Mark has read Oliver Twist ,and Tina has, too. Both Mark and Tina have read Robinson Crusoe Mark hasnt read Tom Sawyer.设计意图:在前一环节第一人称交流的基础上练习第三人称。学生很容易完成听力任务,重点侧重在核对 答案的过程中教授第三人称单数的助动词变化。并引导学生领会因主语不同而引起的助动词变化。Step 6: Groupwork T: What books have you read? Share with your classmates. Here are some sentence structures for you. - Have you read Journey to the West ? - Whats it like? - I think its . How about you? Have you.? BooksClassmates have readWhats it like?Journey to the WestI wonderfulT:In your groups, each mumber can tell us the book youve read and your opinions about it first.
