高二英语Book5 Unit3教学设计Teaching Aims:1,Teach grammar-The Past Participle as the adverbial and attribute. 2,Improve the students, listening skills.Difficult and Important Points: 1,Learn the grammar(The Past Participle as the Predicative and Attribute)2,Have the Ss sum up the function of the past participle using inductive method.Teaching Methods:1,Inductive Method,2,Group work, 本单元以life in the future 为中心话题,旨在通过本单元学习,让大家大胆发挥想象,对人类今后的生活环境,生活方式进行猜测,提倡环保意识,本节课的重点是让学生学会过去分词作定语和状语的不同用法。当过去分词作定语和状语时,该分词及修饰成分相当于一句定语或状语从句。Teaching Procedure:Step1 DictationsStep2 Grammar Past participle used as adverbial and attribute1) Revision观察下面的句子,找出过去分词,并说出其在句子中的成分。1,Polluted water is harmful to our health.2, He was inspired when he thought about helping people.3, I must get my bike repaired.二)探究发现一-过去分词作状语的意义1,Worried about the journey,I was unsettled for the first few days.思考:上句中的过去分词短语在句中充当-成分,它是连接两个句子的一种形式,此句子相当于原因状语从句。3) 探究发现二-过去分词作状语相当于一句状语从句 1, 过去分词可表示时间,原因,条件,让步,方式或伴随,这些作状语用得过去分词可以转化为相应的状语从句。(1)过去分词作原因状语 Given advice by the famous policeman,the young lady was no longer afraid.Since she was given advice by the famous policeman ,the young lady was no longer afraid. (2)过去分词作时间状语Seen from space ,the earth looks blue.When it is seen from space,the earth looks blue.(3) 过去分词作条件或假设状语Compared with you,we still have a long way to go.If I am compared with you,we still have a long way to go.(4) 过去分词作方式或伴随情况状语Followed by his little sister,the dog was running happily.The dog was followed by a little sister and he was running happily.(5) 过去分词作让步状语Exhausted by the climb,we continued our journey.Although we were exhausted by the climb,we continued our journey.2,summary a,过去分词在句子中可作时间状语,原因状语,伴随状语,条件状语,让步状语等。 B,过去分词作状语时,过去分词的逻辑主语与句子主语一致。 C,过去分词作状语有两大特点:(1),表示被动的动作,分词与主语逻辑关系被动(2),表示已经完成的动作3,Rewrite the sentences with proper conjunctions.(1)Asked what had happened,he told us about it._When he was asked what had happened ,he told us about it. (2)Well-known for his expert advice,i received many invitations to give lectures._Because he was well known for his expert advice,he received many invitations to give lectures. (3)Given more time,we would be able to do the work much better ._If we were given more time,we would be able to do the work much better. (4)Once translated into Chinese, the book became very popular among Chinese teenagers._Once it was translated into Chinese,the book became very popular among Chinese teenagers.(5) Deeply interested in medicine ,she decided to become a doctor._Because she was deeply interested in medicine,she decided to become a doctor. (6)Left alone at home,Sam did not feel afraid at all._Although he was left alone at home,Sam did not feel afraid at all.4,Rewrite the sentences with past participle.(1) As I was worried about the journey,I was unsettled for the first few days._Worried about the journey, I was unsettled for the first few days.(2) If he is given time, he will make a first -class tennis player._Given time,he will make a first class tennis player. (3)As I was confused by the new surroundings,I was hit by the lack of fresh air._Confused by the new surroundings,I was hit by the lack of fresh air.(4) When he was questioned by the police about the fire, he became tense._Questioned by the police about the fire,he became tense.四)探究发现四-过去分词与现在分词作状语的区别 作状语的过去分词,其逻辑主语通常就是句子的主语,且主语是过去分词的动作承受者,即过去分词表示的动作不是句子的主语发出的,过去分词与主语之间是动宾关系,即被动关系。这一点是与现在分词作状语的情况是不同的,后者与主语之间是主谓关系。Compare:(1),Following the old man,we went upstairs.跟着那个老人,我们上了楼。(2),Followed by the old man,we went upstairs.被那个老人跟着。我们上了楼。(3),从上面看,体育场好像一个鸟巢。from the top ,the stadium looks like a bird nest. A,seeing B,seen(4),从太空看,宇航员看不到长城。from the space,the astronaut could not discover the Great Wall.A, seeing B, seen五)探究发现五-过去分词作定语(一),过去分词作定语与其所修饰的词之间存在着逻辑上的被动关系,且表示该动作已经完成。Spoken English 英语口语A retired teacher 一个退休的老师(1) 前置定语 单个的动词-ed 形式,一般放在被修饰名词前面。 The excited people(激动的人们)rushed into building. =the people who were excited Lost time (虚度的时光)can never be found again. =time which is lost (2)后置定语 动词-ed 形式短语作定语时,常放在被修饰名词的后面,相当于一个定语从句。 1,Is there anything that has been planned for tonight? Is there anything planned for tonight? 2,The meeting,which was attended by a lot of people,was a success. The meeting,attended by a lot of people,was a success. (二)Combine these sentences using the past participle as the attribute.(page 21 Ex3.)六)探究发现六-现在分词与过去分词作定语的区别 (1),现在分词作定语,它与被修饰的名词存在着逻辑上的主谓关系,该动词的动作正在进行。 过去分词作定语时,它与被修饰的名词存在着逻辑上的动宾关系,该动作已经发生。 He worked as a worker building roads.= He worked as a worker who/that built roads. This is a picture painted by my father.=This is a picture which was painted by my father.
