And how did you face this setback?May 2006, picked to be the vice-minister of Youth League Organization Department in the Science Faculty from Department of publicity. New job came with new responsibilities. One of them is that we have to go to school department sign ourselves on the dotted line and communicate with school and other faculties department personnel. This needs communication skill, at least needs courage to open mouth and talk.First time, I went into that small room which crowded with people who talked with fervor and assurance and I knew none of them. I had kind of afraid of talking to strangers. After signed my name, one member introduced Jiang who was a vice-minister of school department to me. We said a few words not to the point and we suddenly had nothing to talk. I was nervous and blank in my mind. I couldnt spat any word out while people around me was talking and laughing. We were silence embarrassedly for a minute, but I felt this one minute longer than a year.I was frustrated but I must face this setback because I wanted to do my job well. In the seminar, literature reports present the latest achievement including Methodology and Total Synthesis. This is a good chance to keep learning new knowledge. But we have to work from Monday to Saturday leaving only Sunday to prepare literature report. It is also not easy to prepare a presentation. Not only have to overcome professional knowledge understanding barriers and English reading comprehension obstacles, but also have to present it clearly and logically.Once, I picked a Total Synthesis paper which is as long as 14 pages. This article states a significant achievement which has electronic effect and stereoscopic effect been discussed in detail. To present this work meticulously and logically, I also needed to read many more related references which definitely increased my workload.It is very necessary to read article through in order to obtain a preliminary understanding and grasp the emphases and difficulties. After that, all available resources include this article and its references, network etc. have been used to help me figure out those emphases and difficulties one by one. Then according to my understanding combined with the article logic, PPT was made. Final step was to read through the PPT, review all details and key points and try to switch my understanding over to language. When I finished all these steps, it has been 2 oclock of Monday morning.Of course, I made an excellence performance in the seminar. I gave an idea that design a game called dormitory orienteering according to the situation that girls would easily lost their directions in boys dormitory.
