文档简介
1. Childhood EventIt was one summer day when I was about 6 years old. My mother took me to visit one of our neighbors. I met her two nephews there in her house and we played very happily together. At that time the neighbor had a big dog which I never dared to stay near alone. Quite unlike me, the two boys didnt fear the dog at all. They ran after it, stroked it and even kicked it. The strange thing was whatever they did, the dog was not angry at them. “Why not join us?” They invited.“No, thank you!” I refused, because I was really very scared.“Come on! Its very friendly. It wont hurt you anyway.” At last, they persuaded me to stroke the dog. When I put my shaking hands on the dogs tail, nothing happened. Then I touched the dogs back, legs, ears, and even its mouth. It was still friendly. Then I had collected enough courage to play with the dog. So when the boys kicked the dog, I kicked it, too. But at this moment, very unexpectedly, the dog got my foot in its mouth and tasted my blood. I broke out wailing and shouting, but the mean dog refused to release me. In the end I was sent to the clinic. Though this incident happened many years ago, there is still a scar on my left foot today. However, I have learnt my lesson and never touched a dog ever since.2. Being a TeacherSitting there, the little girl was watching me blankly. Her face was pink and delicate, just like a flower, but I could not tell whether she was happy or unhappy. She is my first student. Silently, I put my bag down and we began our first English class. This is the first time we met each other, and I was trembling with nervousness. “Would you like to read the passage?” Taking a deep breath, I asked cautiously. She glanced at me, saying nothing. “Ok”, I said,” Would you mind reading it with me? ” Then I summoned up courage to read it, and then waited for her to follow me. But she lowered her head, toying with the pen in her hand, completely silent. “She doesnt like me.” This idea flashed through my mind repeatedly. A few seconds later, “Miss,” said she,” I cant read it well.” Her voice was so small that it was as if coming from an ancient distant country. But I heard myself saying, “It doesnt matter; just do it.” Finally she started to read in her soft voice. “Wonderful. Its really very good!” I enthusedShe stared at me for the unexpected praise. “Its really very good.” I repeated. “But can you read it louder next time?” She nodded shyly. Then, the ice was broken, and we carried on the course very smoothly that day. This is my first time to be a teacher. One day the girl told me that lecture changed her life. I was so happy to hear that, and meanwhile, I could not help thinking it also changed mine.3. Being a TeacherLast summer I had an experience of teaching language in a primary school. Smiling faces and curious eyes greeted me when I came into the classroom. In my memory, a language teacher was always wearing a stuffy face, a stuffy pair of glasses, and a stuffy mouth. What would I look like in their eyes? I dont want “stuffy” to be my brand. The ring was ringing, and the class began. I felt a little bit nervous because this is my first time standing on the platform. The seats were as stuffy as I thought. I said:“guys, let us set our seats in a circle.” Of course I stood in the center of the circle. The kids were excited to be arranged this way. Then I began by saying: “I know all of you like cartoons. Now, imagine youselves to be cartoon beings. Please tell me who do you want to be?” “I want to be a transformer. I will fight for the peace of world. I am a hero” , a boy answered immediately“I wanna be SNOW WHITE,” a sweet girl followed.“And who are your Seven Dwarfs?” I asked.“You.” “I will. Hahahaha”I know every kid is an angle. Maybe we are wrong to make study a heavy burden to the kids. We should not force them to learn in the class, for being happy in the process of learning is an important part of the classroom, espically for primary school kids. They would benefit a lot in their lives if they find pleasure from studies.4. A Childhood Event During our life time, there is always something happened in our childhood that we cannot forget. The reason is that it has been such a great wealth to us that we can never forget. This event took place over 10 years when I was a 10 year old. One day, I came across a passage entitled Storing Snow. I was so deeply attracted by this activity that I had a strong desire to give it a try myself. From that day on, I was longing for the coming of winter impatiently. How nice it would be if winter could come the following day! Eventually, winter approached, following with the first snowfall. I immediately carried out my plan. Firstly, I collected some clean snow and put it into a plastic bag. Then I dug a deep hole in a shaded place, put the snow into the hole and covered it with the soil. After finishing everything, the time came again for me to wait anxiously. On a hot summer day, I dug the snow out with great care. To my disappointment, I found the snow had already melted. But when I opened the bag, a blast of cool flavour came to my face. It was so fresh and sweet! Now I was proud of what I had done.Through this event, I came to realize that we should be brave enough to explore what we are interested in. Though we may meet with a failure, we can still learn something valuable to us. Sitting in the classroom, I felt depressed and desperate. This was my last subject of the Postgraduate Entrance Test in 2010. Achieving a GoalFacing the thick papers, I trembled heavily. The English exam in the former day had almost destroyed my spirit. I knew I had failed and I could not possibly win any more. Hearing the bell ring, I reluctantly held a pen, and slowly started to write. Feeling dizzy, I attempted to focus all my attention on the questions. The other twenty-nine competitors were also busy writing. Like me, they had gloomy eyes and sad faces, but all of us were insisting on the same goal. I said to myself:“Dont be a
