Unit6 An old man tried to move the mountains.Section B 1a-1d. Teaching Material AnalysisThis is the first period of Section B, it aims to consolidate the unit language goal: how to retell a story, through learning this period, students can understand the ways to tell a story better, thus motivate their passion for learning English culture.The main tasks of this period is :(1). go on learning how to retell stories. (2) know the tense (past tense) when telling a story.(3) Try to organize the story well. (4)Improve the ability of listening and speaking. Teaching goals:1. Knowledge Object1) Vocabulary: emperor, underwear, silk, stupid, cheat2) Target language: This story is aboutPeople could see the clothes unless they were clever.Once upon a time, there was an emperor2. Ability Object1) To improve students oral English ability.2) To generate ideas while listening.3. Aims of emotion and evaluationTo be interestedin communicating in English. Key points and difficult points:1. To educate student to tell a story.2. To practice students listening.3. To grasp the usage of Adverbial Clauses. Teaching Material: MultimediaTeaching Procedure:Step1 Lead-in(2 minutes)Aims: Motivate students interest by asking and answering questions. Thus show new language goals.1.Greet the students.2. Lead-inAsk students the following questions:1). Have you heard of the story the Emperors New Clothes?2).Is it interesting?Step2 New words, target language (8 minutes)Aims: Learn the new words by showing them some related pictures, its better for students to learn new words from the context.1. Show some pictures by computer to teach key words.2. Match the words with the letters in the pictures in 1c.3. Then make sentences with the words.Step3 Listening Practice ( 15 minutes)Aims: Reappear the target goals by listening to the tape. To make students understand the target language better, I arrange the following activities: first, let students describe the pictures to have a better understanding of the content, then, after listening, read after the tape to get into a totally English-speaking environment.1. First let students describe the pictures of 1c, then listen and number the pictures.2. Listen more carefully and find the specific ideas.3. Check the answers.4. Listen again and read after the tape.Step 4 Practice (16minutes)Aims: Learn to communicate in English, also, to realize the target: strengthen students ability of retelling stories with past tense and adverbial Clauses.1. Ask the student to use the pictures in 1c to tell the story.2. Ask some students to retell the story.Step 5 Summary (3minutes)Aims: Train students ability of concluding what they learned, Its good to make them have a total understand of a lesson.Summarize:what we have learned today?Step 6 homework (1minute)Write down the story the Emperors New Clothes.Blackboard Design:Unit 6 An old man trie
