T:After the rainstorm came,we can see something in the picture .Fallen trees,broken windows and rubbish are everywhere,Do you want to know what happened?Ss:Yes.T:Listen to the radio two times.the first time:only listen .the second time:listen after the tape.(Listen to the radio two times.)T:Read the first paragraph by themselves and answer the question “what was the weather like before the rainstorm came”Ss:The weather was very terrible.There were strong winds and black clouds in the sky.T:Because the weather was terrible,the people in the neithborhood were very busy.They must do something to protect their house.Yes?So what was Bens father doing and what was Bens mother doing before the rainstorm came?Fill in the blanks.Ss:Bens dad was putting pieces of wood over the windows.Bens mother was making sure the flashlights and rainstorm were working.T:During the rainstorm ,what was Ben doing?Ss:He was helping his mom make dinner.T:Several hours later,the rainstorm was dying down .What was the neighboorhood like after the storm?Ss:The neighborhood was in a mess.Fallen trees,broken windows and rubbish were everywhere.T:So what did they do?Ss:They joined the neighborhood to help clean up the neighborhood together.T:We have known the main idea about the passage.Lets check together.Do the exercise 3b.(Lets check it together.)T:We have known the main idea about it.Lets study it in details.First lets look at the phrase in the passage.With no light feel like a piece of make sure begin to do try to do at first fall asleep die down wake up in a mess clean upT:Read them together and translate one by one.Work in group .Try to translate by yourselves.Ill ask Ss to translate .Although the storm broke many things apart,it brought families and neighbors closer together.
