Teaching Aims: 1) Knowledge Aims :1.Cultivate the students abilities of reading;2.Enable the students to master the new wordsand phrases in this part;2)Ability Aims : To grasp information easily using mind-mapping3)Moral Aims : 1.Enable students to know scientific inventions create material civilization. 2. Cultivate the students the abilities and wishes of creating inventions.III. Text Analysis:In this unit,the students have got in touch with the passive voice, which is a new grammar. And Its important and a little bit difficult. In the prior periods of this unit .Students have got in touch with the passive voice and realized initially what the passive voice is constructed and what is expresses in this part ,“Improve students reading ability ” is a key point.IV. Students Analysis:In general, students reading ability in our school is poor. On the one hand, they dont have enough vocabulary. On the other hand, , some of them dont know what to do when they meet long articles.So my aim is to make them master how to analyze a long article .So we need a new learning strategy -mind-mapping.V. Important points: 1) To master the new words and phrases in this part. 2) To improve students reading ability.VI. Difficult points:How to use mindmapping to remember informationVII. Whatkindofsportsdoyoulike? whichsportdoyoulikebest?-basketballa) The students listen to the song and guess what it is about.b) They can predict todays topic “sports” easily.c) The students answer the questions together.主题曲节奏明快,情绪激昂,很容易让学生产生共鸣,激发学生的兴趣。询问学生问题对于调整学生课堂情绪极有益处,同时培养学生的语言表达能力. Step II Presentation1) However,Doyouknowwhenandhowbasketballwasinvented?(Itdoesnttmatter,sotodayweregoingtolearnmoreaboutbasketball.Now,openyourbook andturntopage74.2.)Ask students to think about what equipments people need to play basketball, then teach them the new words: basketball court, backboard, metal hoop, net, wooden floor, equipment ”e.g. First, we need a basketball. (Where do we play it?) We can play on the court. (There are two basketball stands, what are on their tops?) A basket is made up of the metal hoop and net. There is a backboard behind for guiding the ball into the basket.1)The students answer these questions. A.Doyouknowaboutthebasketballgame?B.Howmanyteamsareplayersdividedinto (被分成)?C.Howmanyplayersarethereineachteam?D.Howmanyminutesarethereinthegame?2)The students learn the new words following the teacher.要求学生掌握单词的读音,意义为阅读部分的教学做了很好的铺垫。通过分解教材,先教掉部分的生词,降低他们的阅读难度。同时,这也是本文的重点部分,在前面的时间先教给学生,因为前半部分的时间学生的注意力是最集中的,上课的效果也是最好的,相信学生对知识点的巩固也是最好的。Step IIIFastReadingLet the students read the text quickly and match the statements with each paragraph.(show screen to the students )2. Read and decide whether these sentences are true or false. Basketball is very popular in China. (T)Basketball was invented by an American doctor. (F)Basketball was at first invented to be played indoors during the long winters. (T) The first basketball game was played on November 21st, 1891. (F)1)Read the text by themselves and try to finish the task. 2)Read the text once more and try to judge the sentences true or false.任务设计从易到难,由浅入深,层层递进。阅读过程渗透学法指导,提醒学生根据不同的阅读任务使用不同的阅读策略,这既有利于学生顺利完成阅读任务,更有利于学生良好阅读习惯的进一步形成。Step IV.Careful Reading1) The teacher asks the students to read the text again and answer the questions ,they can discuss with each other .2) Learning strategy: Mind-mapping.3) Ask students to finish the task of Section 3 3a. a) The students do as the teacher told.b) They do the exercises by themselves .c) Give students a few minutes to read the passage Do you know when basketball was invented?小组讨论得出最后的答案,使学生在宽松的氛围中互帮互助,有利于学生自主学习能力和合作精神的进一步形成。同时为引导学生关注语言形式,为阅读策略渗透打伏笔。Step V.ExplanationThe teacher explains the important points to them and writes the key points on the board. The students read the sentences and try to find difficult parts.The students take notes of important ones.本活动的意义旨在强调语言知识的学以致用,总结该课的知识点,与学生一起做一个系统的归纳,帮助学生梳理知识。Step VI ExercisesThe teacher shows some exercises to the students and has them finish the task. Look at the screen and try to complete the sentences.让学生自我检测所学的知识,及时、清晰地使他们感受到本课时的学习成就Step VII.SummaryAsk students to summarize the key points about this class. Discuss in a group and make a conclusion about this class.总结所学知识,帮助学生意识到不仅要学习英语知识,而且要具有使用英语知识解决实际问题的能力。Step VIII.HomeworkRead the article “Do you know when basketball was invented?” again and try to retell the story using mind mapping.要求学生课后及时复习。X. Blackboard Design:Unit 9.Reading: Do you know when basket was invented?1. knock into2. divide into3. the aim of 4. guide into.5. the number of XI.教学反思: 这是一篇英语阅读教学课文,掌握英语阅读技巧和培养学生英语阅读能力是英语教师教学的一个重要内容,不管是从学习英语的目的或者应用来看,还是学生英语考试来看,能快速准确地理解英语短文,是非常重要的。因此在教学中,本节课教学主要是以学生为主的自主学习和任务型教学为主:让在这个过程中以小组竞争的形式体验阅读的乐趣并让学生掌握阅读策略,和重在培养学英语生阅读的好习惯和提高学生的英语阅读能力。我这节课,学生学得很轻松,老师也很轻松,这主要归结于任务型教学法的正确使用和学生为中心的教学理念指导思想观念是教学策略的核心和灵魂。任何一种教学策略的运用都是教师教学思想的具体化和操作化,虽然有时教师自己都没有意识到,但这是客观存在的。 根据初中三年级的学生英语学习情况,以及他们的生理和心理特点,如上课不太积极,不爱举手发言等,以及本课教学内容多,容量大,阅读课文教学气氛比较单调乏味等特点,而采取了任务型教学和激励教学法,调动了学生的学习积极性,让他们主动参与课堂,从而轻松阅读并理解文章。任务型教学具有一定目的性,自主性,意义性和实际性,本课又与学生周边的真实情
