Instructional objectives After class, the students are able to 1) master verbal phrases and sentence patterns to describe weekend activities and past events:camp, lake, beach, badminton, sheepdid my homework, went to the cinema, went boating, camped by the lake, went to the beach, played badminton2) use What question, Who question, Where question and sentence patterns to make sentences and conversations;3) simple past tense and changing form of verbs;4) cultivate the abilities of listening, speaking and creative thinking; 2. Ss: Good morning!T: Hows it going?Ss: Good./Great./Not bad.T: What did you do yesterday?Ss: I did my homework./ I played basketball. Step 2 Warming up (4 mins)Act and guessSome students act out the verbal phrases, the rest of students guess what they are.Stage 2 Presentation (12 mins) Step 1 Words learning (3 mins)First, learn the phrases in 1a, read after the teacher;Then, read these phrases together. Step 2 Match words (1 a) (3 mins)Match the activities with the pictures (a-f).T: Who did homework?Ss: Person a did homework.T: Who went to the cinema?Ss: Person d went to the cinema. Step 3 Guessing game (3 mins)Show pictures and guess what they did.What did he/she do?He/she did homework.Step 4 Bingo game (3 mins)Students write down nine verbal phrases at random, and then the teacher picks three phrases, if the three phrases make up a line, the students will make a sentences using the three phrases and get a small gift.Stage 3 Listening (7 mins) Step 1 Listen and write the day (1 b) (3 mins)Listen to the conversation and write the day, morning, afternoon or night below each picture. Step 2 Role-play (1c) (4 mins)Student A is Lucy. Student B asks Lucy about her weekend.B: What did you do last weekend, Lucy?A: Well, on Saturday morning, I played badminton.Stage 4 Practice (16 mins) Step 1 Listening (2a) (3 mins) Listen and underline the words you hear. 1. I visited my (aunt / grandma).2. I did my (homework / sports).3. I studied for the (English / math) test.4. I went to a (farm / beach).5. I fed some (sheep / cows). Step 2 Listen again (2b) (3 mins) Listen to the conversation again.
