Warming-up and lead-in To create an English environment and light up the atmosphere, the teacher shows the class some pictures and a short video of the kung fu panda. And ask the questions:“Do you like pandas? And why?Then have them to answer “Because they are.” to lead in the title of this unit. Presentation1. Ask them to look at the pictures on PPT and try to pronounce the animal words and descriptive words according to the phonetic symbols. And then the teacher check their pronounciations and correct mistakes if any and ask the students to pay attention. Next, repeat the words several times. Finally, ask students to spell the words one by one to memorize them on the spot, and encourage them to link animal words with descriptive words. 2. Game time (to go over and practice the animal words). The guessing game. Ask Ss to guess the animals according to a small piece of the pictures on the big screen. Whac-a-Mole (打地鼠).
