Teaching status and function1. master and use the present continuous tense to talk about what people are doing.2. express the daily activities in English correctly.Teaching aims and demands1. Knowledge goals: Master the words and expressions and sentences.2. Ability goals:Learn to talk about what people are doing.3. Emotional goals:Activate students interest in learning English. And let them dare to speak, take part in the communication actively .Teaching key points and difficult points:1. Teaching key points: let students use the structure of the present participle correctly and pronounce their pronunciation correctly. 2. The teaching difficult points is how to enable the students not to make mistakes on the verb be and the v-ing form in speaking and writingPart2 Analysis of students1. have learnt some verbs and phrases.2. master the present continuous tense easily.3. may be carelessPart 3 Teaching Methods According to English Curriculum standard, we should create a communication language environment based on the experience students had. So communicative method and Task-based method will be used in my class.1. Communicative method2. Task-based teaching method( ask-and-answer activity, guessing games, chant and teamwork)Part 4 Teaching ProceduresI will design the following steps to organize the teaching.Step1: Warming up1.Show some pictures with multimedia and let the students say them out to review some verbs and phrases: 2. Play an English song “Good morning to you” for the students. Then ask students to sing freely. 3. T: We are listening to music now, what are we doing now?( help students to answer: we are listening to music now.)Step2: Presentation and practice1. Show some pictures again, point to the pictures and let them try to ask and answer “What is he/she doing now?” “He/ She is watching TV/ playing soccer/ swimming/ dancing/ running/ playing the guitar/ listening to music/ sleeping etc .”2. Ask some students to talk about the pictures with the teacher.3. Ask students to talk about the pictures in pairs.4. Guide students to sum up the rules : subject + be+ v-ingStep 3 Practice and Listening1. Finish Section A 1a2. Practice 1a in pairs. 3. Play the tape twice and ask Ss to finish 1b.Step4 A guessing game1. Do an action and ask “What am I doing?” Lead the students to guess and say “Youre playing the violin ” 2. Ask some Ss to do actions in front of the classroom, and the other Ss guess the actions. T: What is he doing? Ss: He is doing Chinese kung fu. T: Are you doing Chinese kung fu? S1: Yes, I am. T: What is she doing? Ss: She is drawing pictures. T: Are you drawing pictures? S2: No, Im not. Im writing.Step5 TeamworkDivide the class into groups of four, and ask them to practice the conversation.S1: What are you doing? S2: Im reading books.S1: Whats Li Lei doing? S3: Li Lei is reading books.S1: Is Li Lei reading books now? S4: Yes, he is.Step6 ChantStep7 HomeworkDo some exercises.Part 5 Blackboard design Unit 6 Im watching TVSection A 1a1c What are you doing now? Im watching TV. Whats Li Lei doing now?
