Unit 9 What does he look like?(第一课时)教学设计 贺州市平桂区芳林学校 彭谷娣1、 教材分析本单元是本册的重点单元,起着举足轻重的地位,它的知识点贯穿于整个初中阶段,学习本单元后要求学生能用英语熟练的描述人物的外貌。本课时是本单元的第一课时,即导入课,学习本科时后,要求学生能用所学的语言对人物进行简单的描述。2、 学情分析我所在的学校为乡村中学,学生的英语基础差,底子薄,而我所教的学生成绩更是参差不齐,大多数学生英语起点低,接受能力较弱;缺少良好的学习习惯和强烈的用英语表达的欲望;大多数学生喜欢课堂环节紧凑、有序学习方式,乐于开展合作学习。 三、教学目标1. 能用英语描述人的外貌,包括身高、体重、发型。2.完成课本第49页 1a, 1b, 1c四、重难点:1、重点 1)词汇:hair, curly, straight, tall, medium, height, thin, heavy, build, always 2)句子:-What does he look like? - She is of medium build, and she has long hair. 2、难点 语法:能区别is与has的用法二、教学过程1. 出示课题(板书:Unit 9 What does he look like?)T: Hi, boys and girls. Nice to see you! How are you today?【事先准备好10张图片,分别是四张有关发型(长发,短发,卷发直发),三张有关身高(高个男孩,矮个男孩,中等个头男孩), 三张有关体形(胖女孩,瘦女孩,中等身材女孩)。】2. 游戏导入T: Before we have a new lesson, lets play a guessing game. Now please look at the blackboard.(课件引入)What am I going to draw? Can you guess? S1, please.S1: An apple.T: No. S2, please.S2: An egg.T: No. S3, please. S3: A boy.T: You got it! Smart boy!3. 语言输入、词汇句型教学1)在黑板上用简笔画画三个身高,体形和发型差异很大的人,一边画一边说,同时在黑板上板书出划线生词。T: Now look, this boy is Mike. He is short and heavy.(做手势“矮”和“胖”)And this one is Jet, he is of medium height and medium build. And this one is Maria. She is tall and thin.(做手势“高”和“瘦”)(继续画三个人的头发)What about their haircuts. Mike has short straight hair. Jet has short curly hair and Maria has long straight hair.【老师在黑板上画画和读单词的口形。学生看老师画画,听老师讲述并努力理解老师板书出的单词含义。】2)T:(指着黑板上的生词领读)Now lets read all these words together: short hair, curly hair, long hair, straight hair, tall, short, medium height, thin, heavy, medium build.【全体学生跟着老师齐读单词。】T:(指着黑板上的生词)现在请大家观察一下,你能找出几对反义词呢?S1: short longS2: short tallS3: thin heavyS4: straight curlyT: Great! 其实当我们记了一个单词以后,我们可以想想它的同义词或者反义词,这是我们记忆单词,扩大词汇量的好方法。3)T:(随意抽出图片)Now class say the words together.【全体学生看图读单词】4)(随意抽出图片,走到六个学生跟前,示意个别学生读,随时纠正发音)T: S1, you please read it.T: S2, you please.(每一个学生读好后都给予表扬Great. / Good. / Excellent.)【个别学生看图读单词】5)(随意抽出图片)请同学们来读单词 4. P49, Section A, 1a1)(1a中女孩Amy的图片)T: (指着1a中Amy的图片)Now look at this girl. She is Amy. What does she look like? Can you describe her with some words on the blackboard? What about her height? S6, please. S6: Of medium height.T: And her build? S5, can you tell us? S5: ThinT: And her hair cut, S4, please. S4: Long curly hair.T: Thats great.(目的:用Amy过渡到1a)2)(P49,1a主题图)T:(指着1a中主题图)Now Amy meets many people. What do they look like? Please match the words with the people in the picture. Amy遇见了许多人,请大家看课本41页,1a中的图片,图画中的人长什么样?请你们将图画中的人物与左边的单词配对。【学生将1a图片中的人物与左边的单词配对】3)T: Now, lets check the answers. You did a really great job. 5. P41, 1b,语言输入、听力活动(P49,1a主题图)1)T:(指着1a中主题图中的人物)Amy is going to meet one of her friend. Look at these people, who is Amys friend? What does he or she look like? Lets listen to the tape and help Amy find her friend, OK? Amy现在要找到她的朋友,让我们一起听录音帮她找到朋友好吗?(再用Amy过渡到听力)T: For the first time, just listen, try to understand the meaning and find out Amys friend. 请听第一遍,尽可能理解录音的意思,先帮Amy找出她的朋友。(第一遍不填空,只听,理解,如果学生能找出Amy的朋友就说明他们理解了录音的意思)【学生听仔细录音第一遍,尽量理解录音的内容。】2)T: Now listen again and fill in the blanks in the picture.现在听第二遍,完成1a中的填空。【学生听录音第二遍并填空。】3)T: Now lets check the answer. Ill ask two students to tell me the answer. S1, please.S1: Tall.T: S2, please.S2: Curly hair.T: That was good.6. P41, 1c,语言输入与输出1) T: Amy is very glad because she found her friend. Now, suppose one of the people in the picture above is your friend. Describe your friend and ask your friend will find him or her. 假设1a图中有一个人是你的朋友,请描述你的朋友,让你的同伴找出你的朋友。2) T: Now Ill ask two students to do as an example. What does he /she look like?T: Great!4) T: 那么我们又用什么句型来描述人的外貌呢?S3:They are . / He / She is . / Im . / He / She has .T: Thats right!5) T: 我们可以用be动词后面加形容词来描述,也可以用动词have, has(有)后面加名词或名词词组来描述。【学生听老师讲述并在笔记本上做记录。】8. 布置作业、课结束1) T: Todays homework: (1)请编一个对话谈论一下你的英语老师,写在练习本上;(2)通过阅读报刊杂志,询问了解等方式了解英国球星贝克汉姆的情况。2) T: Class is over.
