Unit 6 Im watching TV.Section A (1a-1c)教学目标:1.记忆单词:newspaper,use,soup,wash记住短语:read a newspaper,talk on the phone,listen to a CD,make soup,wash the dishes2.理解现在进行时的含义,掌握其构成,总结现在分词的变化规律。3.通过图片提示和听力活动,学习、谈论在家里现在在做的事情,提高英语听说能力。4.情感目标定为通过话题的学习、训练,引起学生对家庭活动的兴趣和关注。教学内容:1.学会动词的现在分词的两种变化规则(共有四种)。2.学会运用由what引导的询问现在在做什么的句型:What are you doing?Whats he/she doing?及其回答:Im watching TV.Hes/shes v.-ing.教学重难点:1.学会动词的现在分词的构成。2.在具体语境中感悟、理解和学习现在进行时的用法,注意使用be和动词的现在分词。教学准备:设计教学PPT,录音机,多媒体,相应的图片资料。教学过程:Step .Lead inWarm up by talking about daily activities.T:Good morning/afternoon,boys and girls.Ss:Good morning/afternoon,Mr./Ms.XX.T:What do you usually do on weekends?S1:I usually help my parents do some housework.T:Do you read some books?S2:Yes,I do.T:What does your father do?S3:He usually watches TV.T:What time do you usually get up in the morning?Ss:I usually get up at six.T:What do you do after that?Ss:I brush my teeth,eat breakfast and then go to school.T:Do you take a shower in the morning?Ss:No,I dont,but I take a shower in the evening.T:What does your father do in the evening?Ss:He usually watches TV in the evening.Step .New words (1a)1.Show the pictures of different daily activities to teach the new words. T:Look! What is the boy doing?Ss:Hes watching TV.Then show another picture and help the students to learn the new words.For example,whats the man doing?Hes reading a newspaper.Write them on the blackboard.Ss read and say the words.Whats the man doing? Hes reading a newspaper.Whats the boy doing? Hes watching TV.2.The teacher shows the pictures in 1a and gets the students to answer these questions in turn:T:Now please look at Picture b/c/e/g.Whats he/she doing?What are they doing in Picture h?Ss:Hes/Shes making soup/washing the dishes/using the computer/reading a newspaper,etc.3.Get the class to match the activities with the pictures in 1a by themselves.Then ask them to answer the questions to check their work.T:Whats he doing in Picture b?Ss:Hes making soup.Remind the students of “be”.T:Dont miss the verb be,is,are and the“-ing” form.4.Read the expressions in 1a.Then ask the students to write the verbs and their“-ing” forms.T:Can you find the verbs?Please write down the verbs and their“-ing” forms.We can learn how to make an“-ing” form verb.(1a)In this step,the teacher should help students just remember the verb forms,like “making,exercising and using”.Step .Listening (1b)1.T:Look at the pictures in 1a.Whos Jenny?Whos John?Who are Dave and Mary?Lets listen to the recording.You can find them in the pictures.So Ss listen and watch the names with the activities in 1a.Finish 1b.2.Play the tape for the students to check their work.Ask three pairs of students to ask and answer.T:Now,ask and answer about them.A:Whats Jenny doing?B:Shes watching TV.A:Whats John doing?B:HesA:What are Dave and Mary doing?B:Theyre3.Then play the recording again.And show the writing conversation and get the students to read aloud.And then act out the conversation.T:Now listen again.Can you read the conversation aloud?Step .Post-listening Activities (1c)1.After listening,get the class to read the conversation aloud and talk about what the people in the pictures of 1a are doing.Using is/are and “-ing” form verbs correctly.T:Now lets talk about these people in the pictures.Ask and answer “Whats he/she doing?What are they doing?”T:Please read the model conversation in 1c.Then finish the task.Ss ask and answer in pairs.2.Then ask some pairs of students to act out their dialogues in class.Step .Summary and Assignment1.T:Today we have learned to talk about what people are doing.We must learn to use “is/are+doing”.Be careful not to miss them.Ss review the new activity words in 1a and their“-ing” forms.2.Read the new words and expressions.Step VI.
