How to help students to express their opinion freely教学用具 multi-media教学过程Step1. Warming upEnjoy an English song-“Jingle Bells ”and have a free talk with students.T: Can you sing the song? Do you like the song?Do you know when we usually sing the song? we usually sing it on Christmas day. now its December, the Christmas Day is coming. I am very happy, and I guess I will be happier than any other years. why? because one of my students sent me an e-mail card for Christmas Day. whats more, he wrote all in English.(show the ppt)设计意图:通过Jingle Bells这首歌可营造气氛,并自然引入教学内容Step2. Lead-in (pre-reading)T: But what a pity, I cant understand his English. would you like to help me?Look at his card please. Would you please tell me whats the meaning of it?(show the card on the screen)T: Who can tell me what does the “ru”,”gr8”.means?Ss try their best to guess the meaning, but cant get meaning of “csl and bty”.T: Dont worry, I have sent xiao peng an e-mail to ask for help.show the answers of these e-mail English, and tell Ss its called e-mail English. then ask Ss to try to read the card for me.设计意图:通过学生寄给我的用E-mail english写的贺卡自然导入,初步了解本课重点e-mail English.Step3 While-readingT: But at the end of Xiao Pengs card, he said that: “Mr Liu, you are out! the e-mail English is very popular now. ”T : Oh no, I dont want to be out. Im fashion, do you want to be out?T : OK, so I want to know more about the e-mail English, lets goTask 1Three questions :1).Why do we use e-mail English ?2).Where does it come from?3).When is it supposed to be used?Please try to read the passage and find out which paragraph can tell us the information.设计意图:通过三个问题的提出,让学生阅读1、2、5 段,使学生对于e-mail English 的定义、优点及使用场合有大致了解。然后通过自身的fast reading找到正确的答案,使学生印象深刻。Speed challenge (scanning)Task 2 : Ask Ss to circle the 5 e-mail English in Paragragh 3 and Paragraph 4, and then divide them into 3 groups according to abbreviations, homophones and emoticons. and next circle abbreviations, homophones and emoticons .Read in detailTask 3. How are abbreviations, homophones and emoticons formed or created?.Abbreviations are formed by _ _Homophones are created by _ _Emoticons are formed by using_ _设计意图:运用scanning技巧,迅速找到第三和第四段的5个e-mail English,寓教于乐。再次运用scanning技巧,完成分组和连线搭配练习,从而结合自己的想法,了解e-mail English的基本类别。并通过仔细阅读文章内容,确认三种类型的e-mail English的构成方式Skimmingwe learned something about e-mail English from the article. Please discuss with their group members and try to change No.3 and No. 4 into e-mail English.And then show their ideas to the class, and then compare their ideas with the answers.设计意图:最后通过两个活动,对e-mail English 及 normal English进行互相转换,使学生学有所用,真正提高英语能力。与此同时渗透学习策略,进行情感教育。Step 5 : Important phrases and words.Important phrases : 1. cant stop doing sth. 忍不住做某事2. learn by oneself 自学 = teach oneself3. experiment with 试验、用做实验Exercises.1.
