Teaching aims:(1)Ss can understand the meaning of the conversation with the help of the pictures and the teacher. (2)Enable Ss to use the correct pronunciation, intonation and sense-group reading to read the conversation. (3)Enable Ss to use the key sentence patterns correctly in the situation. When is your birthday? My birthday is on. Then ask and answer according to the birthday.(4)To use the drills in the situation to express what they will do for families and friends: What will you do for your mum? I will.for.(5)To understand the meaning of both of you through the context and get right pronunciation. 3. Key points and difficult points in teaching:Key Point:To ask a persons birthday and answer correctly;Difficult Point:To understand correctly both of you through context and get good pronunciation.4. Preparation before class:(1) Ask Ss to get record sheet about the birthday of familys members or friends (especially Mums ).(2) Related cards of Verbal Phrases (3) CAI;教学过程:Step 1 Warm-up1. Greetings.2. Review the phrases and ordinal numerals.3. Guessing game. Guess Miss Lees birthday.4. Pairwork. When is your birthday?Its on _.What will you do on your birthday?I will_.Step 2 Presentation/Practise1. Lets try.(1) Pre-listening:Look at the picture and lead out Mikes cousin. Ask Ss to guess the babys birthday.(2) While-listening:A. The first time. Listen and tick. B. The second time. Listen and check the answers. Find the key sentence and try to read. C. The third time. Listen again and find how old the baby is. Find the key sentence and try to read.(3) Post-listening. Try to read the whole dialogue.2. Lets talk.(1) Look at the picture and guess what they are talking about.Find Mikes birthday.(2) First. Listen and answer the question. Is Mikes birthday on April 4th?(3) Second. A. Listen and answer the question. Whose birthday is on April 4th, too? B. Lead out the difficult point” both of them” and practice.(4)Third. Listen and answer the question. What will Chen Jie do for her mum ? B. Try to learn the difficult sentence” We can have a birthday party for both of you”.Step 3 Practice1. Try to read it better. Help Ss to listen and imitate. (Use the body language to emphasize on the intonation, stress and pause and so on.)2. Dubbing show. T PK Ss; Boys PK Girls and do the pairwork.3. Pairwork. Challenge themselves. Cover some key sentences and act the dialogue with their partners.Step 4 Consolidation and extension1. A riddle for Ss. Lead out everybody should remember mothers birthday.2. Guessing game. What will Miss Lee do for her mum? Lead out some phrases about mothers birthday Miss Lee will do.3. Enjoy a poem for mum.4. Pairwork. What will you do for your mum?5. Choose one and finish the poem and show it. Then check it.Step 5 Homework1. Listen and recite the dialogue.2.
