Warming-up and Lead in 1. Greet the Ss and talk about the day、date、weather. 2. Enjoy a song about the rain. . Presentation 1. Show some pictures of the weather and some cities. Ss learn the new words with the help of the pictures. 2. Look at the pictures in 1a. Then read the new words on the right. Ask the Ss to match the words with pictures. 3. Check the answers. . Practice Show some pictures on the big screen.1. Ask Ss Hows the weather? / Whats the weather like? Ss guess and answer the question. 2. Ask Ss totalk about the weather according to the pictures with their partners. Listening 1. Ask Ss to look at the city names in the form on the screen and read them after the teacher. 2. Tell Ss they will hear four conversations. Listen carefully , fill in the form(in the paper) .Then ask Ss look at the picture in 1a , tell them this time they should point out each city in the picture as it comes upon the tape and write the name of the city in the picture of its weather. Play the recording a second time. 3. Check the answers. . Pair work 1. Ask Ss to practice the conversation between two boys in the picture above.2. Tell Ss: Suppose you want to have a trip in one of the places in the picture above. Talk about the weather with your friend in the place on the phone. Present a model to help them:3. Ss work in pairs. 4. Ask some Ss to present their conversations and give them encouragement. Consolidation1. Learn some signs 2. Look at the map of China and consolidate the words about the weather .Learn about the weather report. 3. Ask Ss to make a weather report like this:Good morning, everyone! Here is the weather report. Today is, Shanghai is ,it will be tomorrow . Guangzhou is, it will be tomorrowThanks for listening. Hope you have a happy day! Help Ss to complete their own weather reports.4.Ask some Ss to read their own weather reports and invite a student to make a weather report in front of the other students. Summary Sum up the new words and expressions and tell Ss to try to keep happy in different weather situations. Homework .Listen to the weather report on the radio or on TV tomorrow, write down the weather in different cities (3-5cities).
