Revision and topic for today(5 minutes)You learned many useful expressions about shopping in the last lesson , right ? Do you like shopping ? I like shopping very much , and I usually go shopping with my friends .I think most of you like shopping as well .But today I want you to be the boss in a shop and I want to buy a pair of shoes from you . I would like to invite one student to make a dialogue with me , so I can check whether you have understand what you learned before .Is there any volunteer ?Time for making a dialogue with the student .In the course of making the dialogue , I will use expressions about praise and encouragement as many as possible .For instance , “Your dress is very beautiful , I like it very much .” “You did a very good job .” “You are very kind and helpful . etc.Then repeat the expressions of praise and encouragement I used in the dialogue , and tell students that these expressions are commonly used and we should pay our attention to them .Todays lesson is about offering praise and encouragement .Step 2. Background learning (5 minutes)Make a distinction between Chinese culture and western culture in offering praise and encouragement .We Chinese seldom praise others directly ,but westerners are willing to praise others in their daily life .In addition , Chinese tend to criticize people who make mistakes or do sth wrong .However , westerners usually give the person a lot of encouragement in order to build up their confidence .We had better praise people who make a success or progress , and never hesitate to encourage others when they are down .Step 3.Expression learning(10 minutes)Examples Praise:You look great today.(你今天看上去很棒。) You did a good job. Practice(15 minutes)Work in groups of four students to make dialogues .
