(The structure “if . will .” is an important structure.)Step 2 Pre-taskSB Page 34 , 1a .1. Point out the pictures and ask Ss to tell what they see .2. Ask some students to read the statements and responses.Explain the new vocabulary and phrases.(jeans,have a great time)3. Have Ss match the statements and responses on their own .Step 3 While-taskSB Page 34 , 1b .1. Read the instructions .Make sure Ss know what they should do .2. Play the tape and get Ss to check their answers to activity 1a .3. Talk about the answers together .Explain: conditional adverbial clauseIn the first part, simple present tense (一般现在时)is used, and in the second part, simple future tense (一般将来时)is used. SB Page 34 , 1c .1. Ask two Ss to read the example in the sample in activity 1c.2. In pairs , get Ss to talk about what happened in the pictures .3. Ask Ss to work in small groups .Ask each group to write down as many sentences like those in the grammar focus as they can.3. Ask some groups to share their sentences with the class .Expain:a) In English, “be going to” structure can be uesed to express future time. To make a verb form with “be going to”, you first put “be” into the correct form to agree with the subjectSubject StatementI I am going to leave. Im going to leave.You You are going to leave. Were going to leave.They They are going to leave. Theyre going to leave.b) “Be going to” is usually used when something is already planned or definite. Look at the difference between these sentences:l Ill make the supper. (Making a decision/volunteering to do something.)l Im going to make the supper. (This is already planned and organized.)c) The first conditional is used to talk about things which are possible in the present or the future things which may happen .It consists of two clauses, an “if” clause and a main clause:Different verb forms in each part of a first conditional:if clause: if + subject + simple present verbmain clause: subject + will + verbn If the “if” clause comes first, a comma is usually used. if clause + main clause.Eg:If you study
