Methods To Create English AtmosphereAbstract With peoples wide attention to foreign language, English at present has already become an important content in primary education, and the Spoken English Teaching primarily on listening and speaking receives much attention. At present, overwhelming majority school teachers have realized the importance of this point, and take inspiring the student independent study as the leadership in the classroom. In the elementary schools class schedule, English has been dispersed into the daily teaching, and the teachers are requested to us English as far as possible when taking a lesson. As far as the elementary students are concerned, learning the spoken English well is the need which they live and receive further education. This article embarks on elementary students psychological and physical characteristics, base on colleagues experience, combines with own teaching practice,intends to introduce some ways to create English atmosphere in primary schools spoken English teaching. Key words: spoken English, primary students, atmosphere. English is a language practice course and the most important thing for language study is environment. As we all know, a child in the open-mouthed language study time doesnt particularly remember or recite something by heart, he is in the growth environment where everybody speaks the mother tongue, along with mature condition, he can say out many words unconsciously. But most students English study is limited to the only Classroom space. This requests the teachers to use English to organize teaching and build of new and curious feeling to the teacher with English teaching, and will reveal the envy and reverence facial expression from time. But the primary students vocabulary is too deficient, so at the beginning they are not able to understand and not familiar with the expression or the suitable explanation, avoid using Chinese as far as possible, let the students pace themselves the teachers some classroom instruction terminology. For instance, the teacher uses his /her finger to point at the blackboard and say: Look at the teacher takes up the textbook, on one hand does the book turning movement on the other hand says: Open your books. The students understand its meaning and open the books immediately, the teacher follows close on: Turn to page such as these, the students become able to integrate steadily to the study as the time lasts. Like this the teacher leads the students to speak English, gradually trains them the English thought ability Creating a relaxed, happy and lively language environment, raising the spoken language level, also may realize through some methods below. 2.1 Body language The teacher using body language (gesture, movement, expression) to build relaxed classroom atmosphere full of foreign-tasting, For example: when giving orders to the beginner, we can use gesture to help the students understand and ease to accept the English classroom terminology. Like listen to me carefully! You may first point at you ear, yourself then your heart, and the students will easily understand your meaning. When teaching the body organs, I let all the students stand up, wish their fingers pointing at their organs, from top to bottom, simultaneously using English to the name three times loudly: hair, hair, hair; head, head, head Form slowly too quickly, after they wore skilled, then let them make a section of small gymnastics, on one hand do on the other hand say:Heed, heed点点头; Shoulder, shoulder耸耸肩; Hand, hand甩甩手;Leg, leg 踢踢腿. Thus, students studied very much happily.2.2 Total Physical Response (TPR)TPR was developed by James Asher in the USA from the mrid-1960s. It is suitable for beginners courses. It aims to associate language with action, and to reduce stress in language learning. TPR connects language with action by getting the learners to do what the teacher tells them to. For example: when students the terminology of borrowing something, we may let two students perform a dumb show, other students guess its content and dub for them. And in the class, we can utilize Do it, like sit down, stand up, run, jump, eat, drink and so on, first let all the classmates say after the teacher while doing actions, then call a student make the corresponding movement according to his order. Thus, both enlivens the classroom atmosphere, and focuses the students attention. 2.3 English NamesGiving a English name to each students not only can bring the infinite pleasure to them, moreover is advantageous for exaggerating the study atmosphere. It is better to give one easy to understand but unique. We can give a name according to the characteristic of the students Chinese name. Fox example: A female student may be name Moon due to the Chinese name 月; another female student may give a name according to the harmonics, for example: A female student may get a English name Jesse because her Chinese name is 婕, A made student may be named Thomas or tom due to the Chinese name 涛. These name are very novel to the primary students and may stimulate their interest to English and card only writing the English name and place it on the desk before class, and in the class when the teacher call the students or the students are called by others, they only can call the English name. So the students grasp the commonly used English names subtly, simultaneously also exercise the speech ability.2.4 SongsThe psychology research proved that, childs attention is easy to disperse; only when he is interested in the thing can it be concentrated and lasting. Many elementary schools English study content can use the song form to express, which is helpful to the stimulate interest and dispersing difficulty. When the students sing, along with the fluctuating changes of the melody, they may produce the excited mood while feeling relaxed, happy, satisfied. Every song which in the teaching material we all learn to sing the students under the situation of not grasping much English can sing out sentences of the difficult English songs, which without doubt increases the students the infinite pleasure and the sense of achievement, and strengthens the intellectual curiosity. Therefore, combining music and English in the English teaching can help the students understand the dialogues, perform the situational content, establish a sound environment, and let the students naturally invest. Learning some songs like ABC Song, The family song and so on related to the students studying knowledge, both can enliven the atmosphere and can consolidate the knowledge. The teacher also can make some songs by himself. After teaching the number one to ten and the everyday English, in order to avoid forgetting I make a song by myself: One, two, how are you? Three, four, catch the ball. Five, six, its a box. Seven, eight, its a cake. Nine, ten, yes I can.At the same time we consolidated ball, box and cake these common words.Utilizing the clever saying and nursery song can make the students enhance the unconscious remembering and the memory effect. For example, the self-making clever saying:Cat, cat 是猫子;Hat, hat 是帽子;Fat, fat 是胖子;Rat, rat 是耗子.As a result of the pronunciation rhyme, it sounds exquisite, is easy to say and helpful to consolidate the memory. The transportation vehicle words are easy to forget for the lower grade students, so I creatively used the transportation vehicle words which were taught successively to make a small nursery song:Car, car 小汽车;Bus, bus 公交车;Bike, bike 自行车;Taxi, taxi 出租车;Boat, boat 河里游;Plane, plane 天上飞;Train, train 遍地跑.2.5 GamesThe game is a kind of effective auxiliary method in the classroom teaching, which both can increase interest and can raise the listening and speaking ability. The students thoroughly acting the roles and performing enthusiastically in the game scene conforms to the childrens instinct of being glad to imitate and liking to play , also brings the subjective initiative and the creativity into full play, and Adjusts the study rhythm. In particular, the primary students are instinct lively and active, not easy to manage, but designing games in the classroom is absolutely the matter which the children are glad to. However, must pay attention to the quality and the quantity assurance, can not turn the classroom into the game world, let the children realize joyful and relaxed in the game, but not learn any knowledge actually. In that case, even if the classroom atmosphere is active, the children like English class very much; it is not a successful class because it can not complete the knowledge skills teaching goal. Therefore, the teacher will have to pay attention to the extent when introducing games into the classroom.There is a word game Tennis created by Sarah Phillips. This game is played in pairs and is scored like a game of tennis, but the ball is words.a. Child A serves a word to child B who returns a word in the same word family.b.
