Part One: Analysis of the Teaching Material1.The contents The part of reading in Unit8 aims to introduce the students life at the weekends and it aims to get the students to compare and learn the differences between their lives. 2. The teaching aims:(1).The aims of the knowledgea. to read ,speak ,understand and spell the following words and phrases: butterfly, weekend, surf the Internet, watch cartoons and catch butterflies.b. To make the Ss know how to use the sentences: How do you spend your weekends? How does he/she spend his/her weekends?(2). The aims of the abilitiesa. To improve the childrens abilities of listening, speaking and reading.b. To encourage the children to communicate with others actively.(3). The aims of the emotiona. To arouse the childrens interest in English and set up their good study habit and self-confidence.b. Encourage the students to do many things at the weekends and love life.3. The teaching emphasis(1). To enable the Ss master the new words, phrases and sentences.(2). To help the Ss to communicate with each other.4. The teaching difficulties(1) How to make dialogues and act them out.(2) How to write the right whole sentences. Part Two: The Teaching Methods 1.Communication methodIll set up a real situation, in this way, the Ss can say in pairs or in groups, they can say freely and neednt worry about making mistakes.2.Task-based method As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in primary schoolPart three: Teaching aidsIn this lesson, the CAI and some pictures will be used.Part four: Teaching procedureStep 1: Free talk (Ask and answer with the students.)Whats the weather like today?What day is it today?What lessons do you have in the morning?What do you usually do after school?Step 2: Presentation and practiseIll mainly talk about the period.(1) Ill ask some students the same question: What do you usually do on Saturdays and Sundays?Saturdays and Sundays we call them “weekends . Present the new word: weekends.What do you usually do at the weekends? Present the new phrase: at the weekends.How do you spend your weekends?
