Play a game: T:Ill ask four students to do some actions, then other students guess what is she/he doing?T: What is he/she doing?Ss: She isc. Review the present continuous tense: am/ is/ are +V.-ingd. Reserve a question:”what was she/ he doing five minutes ago?”Step2 lead-in (about 10 minutes)The teacher use the pictures about present progressive to lead in the past progressive tense. Picture1, T:What is he doing now? Ss: He is sleeping. T:What was he doing at this time yesterday? Ss: He was reading books.Picture2, T:What is she doing now? Ss: He is flying a kite. T:What was she doing at this time yesterday? Ss: He was watching TV.Picture3, T:What is she doing now? Ss: He is playing the guitar. T:What was she doing at this time yesterday? Ss: He was singing.Picture 4, T:What are they doing now? Ss: They are studying . T:What were they doing at this time yesterday?
