Watch a video about introducing Robinson Crusoe.Step 2 Pre-reading1.T: Have your read Robinson Crusoe? How much do you know about this story?Ss tell the class if they know.2. Watch the picture .Tell Ss a story and teach the new words.This standing man is called Robinson Crusoe. He is on an island . He lives with tools and uses guns to protect himself. The other man was saved by Robinson from cannibals. What happened to them ? Lets read.Step3 While- reading1. Let Ss read quickly and answer the two questions: 1) What does Robinson Crusoe wait for ? 2)Why does Robinson call the man Friday?2. Watch a video ,read paragraph 1 and answer: (1) What things does Robinson use? (2) What does he eat?(3) Where does he live?3. Watch a video and Read paragraph 2 and answer:What do you think of Robinson? How do you know it? Read the sentences you like.4. 3bCheck the answers , let them read again and find words that have these meanings.You can use these to shoot things: _Something you use to travel in the sea: _A piece of land in the middle of the sea: _You can use these to cut things: _Signs left behind by someone or something: _5. 3c. Friday made a small boat. Robinson had some food and tools when he first arrived on the island.Robinson used the ship to build his house.Friday saw some marks of another mans feet on the beach.Robinson tried to kill the two men.6. He is smart and I _already_ (teach) him some English.Step 5 Language points短语: arrive on this island, make a boat, bring back, give up, wait for, cut down, build a house, killfor food, the marks of another mans feet, who else, see sb. doing sth., run towards, help sb. do sth., name sb. , teach sb. sth.句子: 1. Although I have lost everything, I have not lost my life. 虽然我失去了一切,但是没有失去生命。 although“虽然,尽管”,引导让步状语从句,不能与but连用。e.g. He is young, but he works hard. 他年龄小,但是工作很努力。2. So I will not give up and I will wait for another ship. 因此我不放弃,要等候另一只船。 another 既可用作形容词,也可用作代词。用作形容词时,意思是“又一的;再一的”,修饰名词,位于名词前;用作代词时,意思是“另一个”。e.g. Just at that time, another man came in. Saying is one thing and doing is another. another还可以和数词连用,常放在数词的前面,意为“还;再;又”。e.g. We need another three man to help do the work.3. How long have they been here? 你来这儿多久了? how long 常用于询问时间,意为“多久;多长时间”,与现在完成时连用,要求谓语动词必须是延续性动词。e.g. How long have you had the book? 你买这本书多久了?4. Not long after that, I saw some cannibals trying to kill two men from a broken ship. 在那之后不久,我看见一些食人肉质在试图杀死两个来自破船上的人。 see sb. doing sth.意为“看到某人正在做某事”,强调看到的动作正在进行。e.g. Mary saw him cleaning the classroom.
