Lead-in1. Daily greetings to the students 2. Use some weather signs to review the adjectives weve learnt last class. Warming-up1. Use some pictures about different weather to present new words which welllearn in this period.2. Use the key sentences “Whats the weather like in” “Hows the weather in” to practice the new words. 3. After practicing, summarize the key sentences and the key words.4. Ask students to ask and answer by looking at the given map, invite some pairs to share their dialogues with us.III. Listening 1. Match the words with the pictures in 1a. Then ask students to read the words. 2. Come to 1b, ask and answer questions about the weather in the pictures in 1a. 3. Come to 1c, students listen to the tape and write what Mary and Eric answer to Hows it going. Then check the answers. 4. Come to 1d, Listen to the tape again, write the answers to What are you doing and Hows it weather. Then check the answers. 5. Students listen to the tape and read after it, especially pay attention to some language points. 6. Students role-play a conversation between Mary and Eric.IV. Reading 1. Talk about the pictures in 2a with a barterer. How is the weather? What are the people doing?2. Listen to the tape and match each postcard with the correct picture in 2a.3. Do 2c. Fill in the chart with information from the postcards in 2b.4. After checking answers, give students some time to remember the information and try to retell the two postcards. Ill ask some students to have a try.V. Summary Summarize the language points weve learnt in todays lesson. Homework 1.
