Unit 9 What does he look like ?Section A 1a-1e(一)教学目标:I知识目标:1单词: hair, curly, straight, height, tall, medium, thin, heavy, build. 2句型:- What does he/she look like? -He/She is tall and has long hair. -What do you look like? -Im thinII能力目标 : 1学完本课,学会描述人物外貌。2能积极思维,运用所学单词,短语及句型,结合实际生活进行灵活运用。III情感目标:让学生学会友好地描述别人的形象。 (二)教学重点: 掌握本课新单词、句型和怎样描述一个人的外貌。(三)教学难点:掌握正确运用have动词和be动词的描述人物外貌的方法。(四)教学方法:遵循学生是学习主体的原则;知识转化为能力的原则;语言文字实践原则;运用外语直观教学法、交际法;充分发挥多种感知觉器官综合运用的教学方法。(五)、教学过程Step 1 Leading-inT: Do you like playing basketball ? S1:Yes , I doT: Do you like Yao Ming ? S2: Yes , I doT: I think you all like Yao Ming. Me, too. I also like Yao Ming very much. Do you want to know him? Ss: Yes.T: Do you know what he looks like? Ss: No.T: Look, this is his photo. Lets meet him. (Show a photo of Yao Ming.)Step 2 New words1. Present new words.T: Look, whos this woman? Can you guess? (Show this womans picture to the students.)Ss: Is that your wife?T: No, she is a star. she has curly hair. Read after me, curly hair, C-U-R-L-Y, curly Ss: C-U-R-L-Y, curly hair.(Then look at the pictures of my student and teach the new words in the same way such as “straight hair, and long hair.”)T:I have short, straight hair. What about you? (The teacher points at a student.)S1: I have long, straight hair.(The teacher asks some more students to practice. Then show a photo to the students.)T: Look at this man. He is my favorite basketball star . He is very tall. Read after me, tall, T-A-L-L, tall.Ss: T-A-L-L, tall.(Teach the other new words in the same way such as “medium height, thin, heavy, medium build”.)2. Practice the new words.T: Look at 1a. Match the new words with the pictures as quirkily as you can.(Then check the answer.)Step 3 listening. T: I have a good friend. Her name is Amy. Look, this is Amy. Now she comes to the station to meet her friend. But there are so many people. She cant find her friend. Can you help her?Ss: Yes.T: Listen to the tape. Work on 1b. Help Amy find her friend, Ok? Ss: OK.(The teacher plays the recording. Then check the answers.)Step 4 Play a guessing gameWho are these people? Lucky 5 4 3 2 1Step5 New drills1. Present the drills T: I have short, sraight hair. Im short and Im medium build. What do you look like? S:I have And Im. (Ask three more students to practice.)2.Practice the drills A: What do you look like? B: I am, and I have. A: What does he/she look like?
