Spice3willcalculateeithertheDCoperating pointsensitivityortheACsmall signalsensitivityofanoutputvariablewithrespecttoallcircuitvariables includingmodelparameters Spicecalculatesthedifferenceinanoutputvariable eitheranodevoltageorabranchcurrent byperturbingeachparameterofeachdeviceindependently Sincethemethodisanumericalapproximation theresultsmaydemonstratesecondorderaffectsinhighlysensitiveparameters ormayfailtoshowverylowbutnon zerosensitivity Further sinceeachvariableisperturbbyasmallfractionofitsvalue zero valuedparametersarenotanalyzed thishasthebenefitofreducingwhatisusuallyaverylargeamountofdata NoiseAnalysis ThenoiseanalysisportionofSPICEdoesanalysisdevice generatednoiseforthegivencircuit Whenprovidedwithaninputsourceandanoutputport theanalysiscalculatesthenoisecontributionsofeachdevice andeachnoisegeneratorwithinthedevice totheoutputportvoltage Italsocalculatestheinputnoisetothecircuit equivalenttotheoutputnoisereferredtothespecifiedinputsource Thisisdoneforeveryfrequencypointinaspecifiedrange thecalculatedvalueofthenoisecorrespondstothespectraldensityofthecircuitvariableviewedasastationarygaussianstochasticprocess Aftercalculatingthespectraldensities
