Greetings Step 2 Presentation 1, Show some pictures on the big screen. Present the new words and expressions. 2, Students watch and learn the new words and expressions 3, Show some pictures on the screen and ask some students to perform the actions. e.g.T: What are you doing?S: I am doing my homework.T: What is he/she doing?Ss: He/She is doing his/her homework.(practice watching TV, cleaning, reading a book, eating dinner, talking on the phone and so on)4, Work on 1a Students read the activities and look at the pictures. Then match the activities with the pictures.Step 3 Guessing games 1, Now lets play a game. Whats she/he doing? (Let a student do some actions, like cleaning, reading a newspaper and so on. Then ask others to guess what he/she is doing)2, Students watch and guess the actions 3, Ask and answer -Whats he/she doing?-He/She is -Step 4 Listening 1, T: What are Jenny, John, Dave and Mary doing? Now lets listen to the tape and find out the right activities from 1a.2, Play the recording for the students again. Students listen to the recording and write the number from 1a. 3, Check the answersStep 5 Pair work1, Ask the students to read the conversation in 1c with a partner. Then look at the pictures in 1a and make conversations about other persons in the pictures.2, Students make conversations by themselves and practice them.3, Act out the conversations.Step 6 SummaryIn this period, weve learned how to talk about what people are doing and know the use of present progressive tense.
