Analysis of the Book:新目标英语教材的语言教育理念是:知识用于行动强调“语言应用”,培养“创新、实践能力”,发展“学习策略”。 它采用任务型语言教学(Task-based Language Teaching)模式,融汇话题、交际功能和语言结构,形成了一套循序渐进的生活化的学习程序。本书每个单元都列出明确的语言目标、主要的功能项目与语法结构、需要掌握的基本词汇,并分为A和B两部分。A部分是基本的语言内容,B部分是知识的扩展和综合的语言运用。Step2. Analysis of the Unit:本课是新目标英语八年级上册第8单元,教材以 How was your school trip ? 为中心话题,围绕着描述“过去发生的事情”展开,学习和运用一般过去时态的一般疑问句Did you go/see /buy? Were there any? 询问过去的事件,让学生学会谈论和分享过去发生的事件。 This lesson plays an important part in the English teaching in this unit. By studying of this lesson, well enable the students to talk about the past events. Step3. Key and Difficult Points:Key words: dolphin, movie, aquarium,shark, visitor, octopus, gift, outdoor, went, saw, were, played, etc.Sentence structure: How was your school trip?/ Were there?/ Did you see?/ Did you go?Grammar: the simple past tense. Step4. Teaching Aids: Multimedia, PowerPoint, Blackboard, Tape, Pictures.II. Part2. Teaching Aims 1. Knowledge Aims(1) Students master the sentence pattern Did you .? /Were you .?(2)Ss learn and master the new words and new phrases. 2. Ability Aims(1) Develop the students abilities of listening & speaking(2)Train the students ability of working in pairs.(3) Students can talk about the past events.3. Moral Aims(1) Enable the students talk about the past events with their friends and so that they can know more about their friends.(2) By talking about the past events, students can express their won opinions and show their respects to others.III. Part 3. Analysis of Studentsv Junior two students.v Have some basic knowledge on English learning, and are on the transition period.v Interested in learning English, but needed guide.v Afraid of making mistakes.IV. Part4. Teaching Methods & Students Learning Strategies1. Teaching Methods (1)The main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle school is to develop the students abilities of listening ,speaking ,reading, writing and their good sense of the English language .So in this lesson Ill mainly use the following two methods:v “Task-Based” Language Teaching (任务教学法)v “Total Situational Action” method (情景交际法) (2).The reasons I adopt the two methods:1).The Total Situational Action establishes a real scene and the interaction between the teacher and the students.2).The Task-based” language teaching method offers students to finish the blank filling part.2. Students Learning Strategies1). Students-centered and teacher- guided learning strategies. 2).Games and competition.3).ObservationImitationPractice. V. Part5. Teaching Procedures1. Step1: warming-up (2minutes) (1). Begin with a short conversation: e.g. Questions: Have you ever been to a school trip? Where did you go? What did you do? Answers: yes, I have / no, I havent. I went to I did./ I saw (2).The purpose of the question is to help the students to revise the past tense. By sharing their experience with their classmates, the students interests of English learning would be easily aroused by their opinions.2.Step2.Brief Introduction(2minutes) The passage concerns about the experience of a school trip, the class had a great time on it; they went to many places and did some interesting things. Ask students to carry a good mood to learn this lesson.Purpose of the Design: The first impression is of vital importance, according teachers introduction, students would have a good impression on this lesson, so that the learning could be more efficient and effective.3. Step3. Extensive Reading(8minutes) Task1. Ask the students to read the context 2 times in high speed, then try to figure out the mine idea of the context, such as the elements, “who, what, where, and how.Task2. True or false v 1. Class 9 had a terrible school trip._v 2. They saw an octopus in the Outdoor Pool._v 3. They took the subway back to school._v 4. The students watched a movie about dolphins._v 5. The science teacher cleaned the bus._v 6. They felt tired but happy._ Purpose of the Designv By trying to work out the contexts main structure, the students would have a better understanding of it. Whats more, it is a effective way to train students fast reading ability, which is rather necessary for them.v The “true or false” question is a good way to examine students understanding of the context.4. Step4. Intensive Reading(14minutes) (1) Learning the new words, phrases, and grammar, and analyze the passage in detail. (2) In this step, teacher should read the new words first and let the students imitate, and make sure the students take notes. Task1. New words 名词:dolphin (海豚), movie(电影), aquarium(水族馆), shark(鲨鱼), octopus(章鱼), gift(礼物)形容词: outdoor (在户外的)动词:had, visited, watched, went, saw, brought, took, was, cleanedPS:划线部分为重点单词,需要逐一细讲。剩余的单词意思基本固定,对于初二学生来讲,只需记住中文意思即可。内容:Gift: (n)礼物,礼品。 Gift VS. Present 析:两个名词都表示“礼物、礼品”,常可以通用。其中gift有一定的感情色彩,指上级送给下级或长辈送给晚辈的礼物,礼品价值较高。Present多指身份相同的人互相赠送的礼物,没有gift那么正式和贵重。E.g. (1) We are just going to buy him a birthday present. (2)Her boss gives her 100$ as a gift.Key point: 初步了解动词的过去式v 规则动词的过去式:动词原形加ed。 E.g. visitvisited, watchwatched, Clean cleaned, etc.v 不规则动词的过去式,需要在学习过程中不断积累,通过练习记下。 E.g. have/hashad, gowent, seesaw, buybrought, take took, iswas, are were, dodid, Task2. New phrases(1).go on a trip(=have a trip) 意为:进行一次旅行/外出旅行,其中trip常指距离较短的旅行。 E.g. We will go on a trip to Beijing tomorrow. 变形:ontrip 意为“在旅行期间” E.g. He is on a trip in China. (2).at the end of 意为“在的末尾;在尽头”,其后即可接时间,又可接地点。 E.g. The hospital is at the end of this road.区分:v by the end of 到末;在结束时。 E.g. You must finish the work by the end of this year.v end up 结束,告终。 E.g. If you are lazy, you will end up with failure.v in the end 终于,末了,最后。 E.g. In the end we won the game. Task3. GrammarThe simple past tense (一般过去时) (1)定义:表示发生在过去的事实、动作、状态或习惯等的动词形式。 E.g. They took subway back to school. (2)常见的一般过去时的时间状语: Yesterday, last month, just now, in the past, an hour ago, etc. Purpose of the Design This part is the most important one of the whole lesson, and as a teacher of the junior two students, one must concentrate not only on the oral English, but on the foundation of foreign language learning (the words, phrases, and grammar).5. Step5.Students Activities:(12minutes) (1) Imitation: listen to the tape and require students to imitate the pronunciation and the tone. (2) Competition: students will be divided into 4 parts, and finish the following exercises, with each one worth 10 points, the highest score team will receive presents. (3) Game: Hang the pictures of famous places and the cards with their name on the blackboard, and then students try to match. Exercises Task1.单选 1. Step6.Make A Conclusion(1minute) 1). Summarize the contents learnt in this lesson, the new words, new phrases, grammar. 2).The simple past tense is the key point of this lesson, which deserves more attention. 7. Step7.
